About the adventure
Falkovnia's horror is that of war, and control, and humanity. The supernatural plights of their neighbors now threaten to encroach on their borders, turning centuries of oppressive rule into a chance for revolution and slaughter. When the dark lord of the land rules not by supernatural magic, or some dark cursed power, but of the brutality and murderous wrath of a dictator, just how far will the regime go to maintain control and power as they are beset by lycanthropes, undead, and more? The woods are alive with monsters. The mists are melting in the radiant darkness of the night. Through military curfews and civil uprisings, are the people willing to turn to such dark power and corruption if it means liberation? "The Scouring of the Mists" is a homebrew adventure set in the Domains of Dread, primarily Falkovnia. Though the setting and lore are heavily inspired by official material, I have also customized and homebrewed a lot of story beats, history, and NPC info to keep the game and world feeling refreshing and new. Whether you are amongst the downtrodden, rising up as a freedom fighter, or from one of the neighbouring domains bleeding into Falkovnia, this gothic fantasy game is the perfect blend of OG D&D sentiment, and modern inspirations. *We plan on playing twice weekly! 2 hour sessions every Tuesday and Friday at 10pm Pacific!*

About me
Hello there! I'm Fitz (they/he), and I have been a GM for about 10 years—4 of those professionally. I run weekly paid games, high concept one-shots, and have built up quite the tight-knit community over at what we like to call "Also Dragons". Most of the campaigns I run take place in an overarching homebrew setting, spanning different genres, corners of the world, and differing types of magic and technology. Together they paint a larger picture, each player adding a brushstroke.

Creating your character
Character creation will occur in call, to allow for discussion of potential backstory connections and to allow consistency with the rest of the party. Nothing worse than a player making a character they are passionate about only to find that it's not a good fit for the setting or the party! There are some other details around equipment and house rules that will be elaborated on in Session Zero and may inform some player choices!
Twice-weekly Ravenloft campaign! We play roughly 2 hours every Tuesday and Friday night at 10pm Pacific!
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Stable, reliable internet connection and audio quality required. Video preferred but totally optional. We will be using Discord for voice, video, campaign tracking, and battlemaps.
What Fitz♦️🍏Also Dragons brings to the table
I have access to all official content on D&DBeyond as well as animated battle maps which we will be using via a screensharing VTT method. For systems other than 5e, I also have proficiency with Foundry and various digital character sheet options, but also am happy to help folks learn from the ground up with PDF or pen-and-paper character sheets. I prefer this approach as I feel it best emulates an at-the-table feel and reduces the amount of tabs and things for people to keep track of!

How Fitz♦️🍏Also Dragons creates a safe table
Session Zero allows the players to take the floor, ask questions about the setting, make requests for content they would (or would not) like to see. We will get you oriented with the Also Dragons server, discuss house rules and general community dynamic, and go through content-consent checklists to gauge levels of comfortability with subject matter that may (but will likely not) arise.
