About the adventure
The sun has not risen over Icewind Dale in nearly two years. Each night, Auril the Frostmaiden crosses the sky and renews her terrible spell, trapping the Dale beneath an endless winter. The roads between settlements are disappearing beneath the snow. Food is becoming scarce. People are vanishing into the tundra. And in the isolated communities of Ten-Towns, fear is beginning to turn neighbor against neighbor. But the cold is only the beginning. There are places beneath the ice that have remained untouched for centuries. Forgotten ruins. Buried secrets. Things that should have stayed lost. And something about the endless winter is beginning to disturb them. What Sleeps Beneath the Ice is a character-driven, eldritch-horror take on Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden, blending survival fantasy, mystery, exploration, and cosmic horror into a campaign where your choices—and your character's story—matter. You'll explore the settlements of Ten-Towns, venture into the deadly wilderness beyond them, uncover mysteries buried beneath the snow, and slowly discover that Icewind Dale is hiding far more than the Frostmaiden's curse. Expect a world where isolation matters, resources can become precious, monsters aren't always the greatest threat, and not every mystery has an answer you were meant to find. This is Play-by-Post, giving us room to lean heavily into roleplay, character relationships, investigation, atmosphere, and the quieter moments that can be difficult to explore in a traditional live game. Backstories are encouraged, and I will look for opportunities to weave your character's history, fears, goals, and secrets into the campaign. You don't need to have played Rime of the Frostmaiden before. In fact, you shouldn't assume you know exactly what is waiting for you even if you have. The adventure may begin with surviving the Everlasting Rime. But eventually, you'll have to decide whether everything buried beneath the ice should be found. Welcome to Icewind Dale. Try not to wake anything.

About me
Hi! I've been a player and DM for about two years. I just recently decided to do paid games at the behest of some wonderful people in my life. So here I am.. ready to create fantastical worlds for you to have fun in! My favorite D&D tables have room for all sides of D&D: dramatic character moments and terrible decisions, dangerous battles, and unexpected left turns because someone asked, "Wait.. can I try this?" The ridiculous plan that somehow becomes campaign lore. I have a particular weakness for characters who arrive with stories already tucked into their pockets. Questionable patrons, inconvenient prophecies, old enemies, mysterious scars, and secrets that definitely won't become a problem later. I love rich fantasy worlds and the stories that emerge when characters become part of them. D&D gives us a place to begin. What happens once the characters take over is the fun part.

Creating your character
We'll use the Standard Array for ability scores. If an option is available through the D&D Beyond campaign link, it's fair game—including partnered content. (Exception: no firearms) Whenever both 2024 and 2014 versions of a class, species, or other character option are available, please use the 2024 version. Backstories are encouraged—there will be plenty of opportunities for your character's history, relationships, and goals to become part of the campaign. You're welcome to create your character before Session 0. We'll use Session 0 to make any final adjustments, establish party connections, and make sure everyone is ready to set sail.

What J1NX (Summer) brings to the table
I provide a character-driven adventure where your choices matter and the world responds to what you do. Expect a healthy mix of roleplay, exploration, intrigue, and combat, supported by high-quality maps, artwork, tokens, and handouts to bring the world to life. I embrace creative solutions, Rule of Cool moments, and the ridiculous plan that somehow works—but choices always have consequences. Most importantly, I provide a welcoming table where everyone gets a chance to contribute, take risks, and have their moment in the spotlight.
