About the adventure
For millennia, the undying Nightshade Empire and the feral Lycan Republic have been locked in a brutal, blood-soaked war. But in the deep shadows of this eternal conflict, an impossible spark has ignited. A werewolf prince and a vampire princess have fallen into a passionate, forbidden embrace. Their love is a dangerous spark in a powder keg—one that is capable of either forging an unprecedented peace or burning both kingdoms to ash. Forbidden Love of Fur & Fangs is a D&D 5th Edition adventure played out like a sweeping, dramatic romance novel. Your party has been hand-picked by the royal lovers to act as their secret protectors, liaisons, and vanguard. You will navigate high-stakes espionage, intense emotional drama, and passionate encounters as you fight to keep their bond a secret and guide them toward a united future. This campaign heavily prioritizes character-driven narratives, deep roleplay, and romantic intrigue alongside classic D&D action. But in a world built on ancient hatred, loyalty is a fragile thing. Will your party truly stand as champions of this star-crossed union? Or do some of you carry darker, secret motives to sabotage the alliance from within? Whether you want to fight for true love, navigate complex political webs, or secretly plot to watch the kingdoms burn, your choices will shape the fate of the realm. This game is perfect for players who love heavy roleplay, rich storytelling, and high-stakes romantic drama.

About me
As a GM for over 8+ years at my local gaming store, I've found that I am an open book! Meaning, I don't typically use campaign books for my adventures. I've found that homebrews help keep mine and my players creativity flowing. My number one rule is Rule of Cool: if you can explain your thought cool enough, it could happen so long as the dice allow it! With each campaign's end goal in mind, I'm always fluid with how the players and the dice want to tell the story. Each of my players comfortability is important to me: being considerate, open minded, and kind are my utmost priority. That and to have fun! Standard session are $20. Private bookings are $30.

Creating your character
Before we leap into the drama and danger, we need to build your protagonist! Here is exactly how we will handle the character creation process to get you ready for the table. The Ground Rules Starting Level: Level 3 (the perfect spot to have your subclass active and some heroic utility under your belt). Stat Generation: Point Buy or Standard Array (or you can roll your stats live with me during Session 0 if you want to test your luck!). Character Sheets: You are entirely free to manage and track your character sheet using whatever method you prefer. If you like using D&D Beyond for yourself, you are absolutely welcome to do so! Just ensure I have access to view a copy or link of your sheet before we play. Allowed Materials & Custom Homebrew Official Sources: All official Wizards of the Coast (WotC) sourcebooks are fair game for classes, subclasses, backgrounds, and spells. Exclusive Campaign Homebrew: When you join the campaign Discord, you will find a complete list of my personal, custom-made homebrew races and classes! These are just extra choices available for you to choose from if you want even more unique options for your build. Third-Party Homebrew: If you have material from a third-party publisher or outside homebrew content that you would love to use, it is allowed! However, it must be reviewed and approved by the DM first before you bring it to the table. Tying Your Character to the World: You have complete freedom to create the exact character and backstory you want! You are not limited to any strict rules regarding your background, but if you are looking for inspiration on how you might connect to this high-stakes secret, here are a few optional paths you can choose to take: The Loyalist: You are a trusted guard, handmaiden, knight, or advisor to the Werewolf Prince or the Vampire Princess. The Specialist: You are a mercenary, spy, or rogue hired specifically for your discretion and unique skill set to get a delicate job done. The Wildcard (The Saboteur): You secretly work for one of the warring factions (or a third party) and want to see this peace treaty fail. Note: If you choose this path, message me privately before our first session so we can secretly cook up your hidden objective and cover story.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
To make getting to the table as easy and low-friction as possible, you won't need to buy expensive software or configure complicated virtual tabletop (VTT) accounts. Here is exactly what you need to do and have ready before our first session: 1. Join the Campaign Discord Once you sign up, you'll receive an invite link to our private campaign Discord server. This is our main hub! It's where we will do our weekly voice calls, coordinate schedules, and where you can access the list of my personal custom homebrew races and classes to help build your character. 2. Have a Working Microphone Clear communication is key for a roleplay-heavy, dramatic game! You will need a reliable, working microphone so we can hear you clearly during voice chat. 3. Choose Your Character Sheet Method I want you to use whatever system you are most comfortable with. You are free to track and read your character sheet using: D&D Beyond (on your own account) A character sheet app on your phone or tablet A fillable PDF on your computer Good old-fashioned pen and paper! As long as you have a way to easily read your sheet and can share your character's stats/features with me before we start, any method works. 4. Get Ready to Watch the Stream You do not need to buy or download Tabletop Simulator, Roll20, or Foundry. For our weekly games, I will be running the tabletop simulator on my end and projecting/streaming it directly into our Discord voice channel. All you have to do is join the call, watch the stream, and focus on the story! 5. Camera is Completely Optional There is absolutely no pressure to show your face. If you want to turn your camera on, you are more than welcome to—but if you prefer to play voice-only, that is 100% okay.
What BIGJose brings to the table
Here is a breakdown of what I bring to the table to ensure you have a high-quality, immersive, and seamless gaming experience every single week! 🎮 The Visuals & Tech Tabletop Simulator Streaming: You don’t need to buy any software or log into messy virtual tabletops. I provide and run a fully realized 3D tabletop environment on my end and stream it directly to our Discord server. You get high-quality maps, tokens, and clear visual combat tracking without the hassle of setting it up yourself. A Dedicated Discord Hub: A fully organized, private Discord server where our community lives. It features dedicated channels for session scheduling, out-of-character chatting, and voice channels with crisp audio for our live games. 📚 Exclusive Content & Storytelling Custom Homebrew Options: Direct access to a curated list of my personal, custom-made homebrew races and classes right inside our Discord server, giving you tons of extra unique choices for your protagonist. Dynamic, Responsive NPC Interaction: As your players navigate the forbidden romance between the Werewolf Prince and Vampire Princess, you will encounter a deeply voiced, fleshed-out cast of characters who react dynamically to your choices, allegiances, and potential betrayals. Tailored Plotlines & Secret Coordination: If you decide to play a Saboteur or have unique backstory goals, I provide private 1-on-1 brainstorming and secret mechanics management to seamlessly weave your hidden agendas into the main narrative without tipping off the rest of the party. ⚔️ Game Management & Support Fair & Visceral Rule Management: Consistent handling of our active house rules (like Crunchy Crits and Bonus Action Potions) to ensure combat remains fast, fun, and impactful. An Inclusive, Player-First Environment: A welcoming space that prioritizes your comfort, boundaries, and collaboration. I am always available between sessions to answer rules questions, discuss character progression, or help you tweak your build.
Homebrew rules
Crunchy Crits: If you roll a natural 20 on an attack, it equals full damage dice plus the roll, including all your bonuses. For example: if your attack damage is 2D4 +2, you automatically do 10 damage, then you roll your 2D4 +2 and add the 10 to it. D4 Loot Rolls: Whenever you kill something with effort and you want to loot them, roll a D4, then roll a D100 for each number 4 and below. 4 = platinum pieces. 3 = gold pieces. 2 = silver pieces. 1 = copper pieces. Proficiency equals advantage on rolls. If you roll with advantage or disadvantage and you roll 2 natural 20s, you get double the max damage roll plus 2 rolls, or if it was on a check or save, you get an astronomically better result. The Rule of Cool: If you make it sound badass, it will dead ass happen! (if you roll high enough) If you say something that lets you see the DM's uvula, you get a D20 inspiration. If you get any of the DM's references, you get a D20 inspiration. If you do something cool enough, like role-playing or a cool move or anything the DM just generally likes, you get an inspiration varying in value depending on how much I like it. Advantages don't stack after the normal Advantage; anything else giving additional advantages is a +2. Cantrips are bonus actions. Even if you have DM inspiration, natural ones always fail.

How BIGJose creates a safe table
Because Forbidden Love of Fur & Fangs dives deep into themes of romance, passion, warring kingdoms, and secret betrayals, establishing clear boundaries is essential. We want the drama to stay high on the screen while ensuring every player feels completely safe, respected, and comfortable at the virtual table. Here is how we handle safety tools and our Session Zero prep to make sure we are all on the same page. Session Zero: Setting the Stage Before we roll a single die, we will hold a dedicated Session Zero. This is where we lay the groundwork for our story and align our expectations: Tone & Expectations: We will discuss the level of romance, drama, and political tension everyone is excited to explore. Player vs. Character Boundaries: Because this campaign features intense rivalries, secrets, and potential saboteurs, we will establish a firm boundary between in-character conflict and out-of-character friendships. What happens in the warring kingdoms stays in the warring kingdoms! Custom Lines & Veils: We will build a collaborative list of topics we want to keep completely out of the game (Lines) or gloss over with a quick summary (Veils). Our Active Safety Tools & Content Level To ensure a comfortable environment in real-time, we use a simple set of digital safety tools during every session: Adult & Explicit Content: This is an explicit campaign. If all players at the table are fully comfortable with it, we will actively roleplay explicit sexual content and romantic encounters. Your comfort and consent are the highest priorities, and we will establish clear boundaries regarding this content during Session Zero before we begin. The Digital X-Card: If a scene, description, or direction ever makes you feel genuinely uncomfortable, you can type "X" in the Discord chat or say "X-card" out loud. We will immediately stop, adjust, or skip past the content—no questions asked, no explanation needed, and absolutely no judgment. Strictly Off-Limits (Lines): Non-consensual behavior, graphic torture, and gratuitous cruelty are completely banned from this table. Open-Door Policy: Your real-world mental and emotional well-being always comes first. If you need to step away from the mic at any point for a breather, you are entirely free to do so. Mid-Campaign Check-Ins: Between sessions, my virtual door is always open. I will periodically check in with you privately—especially if your character is running a secret "Saboteur" objective—to make sure you are still having fun with the pacing, the romance, and the drama.
