About the adventure

Priene has always been cursed, as far as the coast of Anatolia knows. The ambitions of Philotes, its founder, to build a city worthy of Athena's gaze has fallen short and since then, only the fabled Sword of the Founder has attracted visitors and prayers to the local temple of Athena. You are in the nearby Miletus when you hear of monsters of attacks to several nearby fishing vessels. Whatever curse is on Priene, it's starting to spread. You may be someone wishing to become a hero in your own right, or a follower of one of the Olympians who is guided towards righting this wrong. But what's the source? And what's the price of Athena's gaze falling on Priene for the first time? ________ ABOUT ECHOES OF FATE Set in a fabled Age of Rhapsody, Echoes of Fate is a campaign for players who want Greek mythology lived from the inside. If you are a fan of tasteful myth retellings, come join us! SOME NOTES ON THE SETTING: ⚡ The gods are alive and present, though their attention lies elsewhere. Drawing their eye might bring you greatness or despair — or you may instead walk the path of the mysterious cults, knowing full well you might be deceived in doing so. ✨ Magic here is no neutral gift. It draws from many sources and always comes at a price. Some paths are outlawed or heavily regulated and require allegiance to a specific deity — or defiance of them. Others draw from nature, secret rites or uncomfortable truths. ⚫ The dark force of Miasma creeps in wherever the sacred breaks, and is able to devour entire cities and dynasties if not resolved, or corrupt souls as restless ghosts. 👥 All Daggerheart Ancestries and classes are tied into the setting — there are no limits! You will be provided material about the setting, and you can create your character during a short session zero or pick a pre-generated one. 🌈 All stories are welcome here. Queer love, queer grief, queer defiance — Greek myth is full of gods and heroes who never fit neatly into one box, and this goes for the DM and the players at this table. ❗Echoes of Fate doesn't shy away from depicting slavery, xenophobia, political violence and sexism. Players are always free to engage with these themes, push back on them, or leave them in the background. Let's discuss what you are uncomfortable with. 📚 Do I need a Major in Classical Literature to play? Of course not. You will need to brush up the very basics of Greek myth, though.

About me

I like my games how I like my tea: hot, honest, and better with company. And like my tea, I like my worldbuilding steeped in history. I've been playing and discovering worlds for fifteen years now—care to join me for your next adventure? I'm an Italian GM, bilingual in English and Italian, with EU- and US-friendly playing times (one of the benefits of being a night owl!). My first adventure was Homer's 'Odyssey'. Long before I ever filled my first character sheet, I was fascinated by stories of people setting out into the unknown, discovering strange places, meeting unforgettable characters, and returning home changed by the journey. That feeling has stayed with me ever since, and it's a the heart of how I approach tabletop games: every campaign is an adventure, and every world is shaped by the people who live and play in it! I started out as a player on play-by-post forums before joining my first Pathfinder 1e session. I was incredibly lucky to experience a campaign that took us all the way from level 1 to level 20, mythic tiers included. Since then, I've run long campaigns primarily in Pathfinder, D&D 5e, and Daggerheart, with plenty of detours into pretty much everything. I've been behind the screen for more than seven lucky years now, and nobody's complained yet. If you're looking for a table where there's room for curiosity, good stories, unexpected turns, and a little bit of magic, pull up a chair. I'd be glad to have you along for the journey.

Character creation

Creating your character

You will be provided with a short overview of how ancestries and communities work, and a brief introduction to the campaign setting. I prefer to usually handle character creation during a session zero, and it can be either via voice or text, but feel free to inquire about pre-generated characters or just come to session 0 with a vibe and let's create your character! We'll use standard arrays for Daggerheart and both the core manual and Hope and Fear expansion.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You will need a Discord account and we'll play on Foundry VTT! Cameras aren't required.

What sixter brings to the table

I will strive to do character voices and mannerism and I take care in describing the world around you so you can immerse yourself. I use music and ambience as well! Your story will matter, and I don't mind long backgrounds as long as they are on the narrative side. Tell me about who your character cares for and what are his goals. If you want to continue roleplaying or discovering things, I'm happy to keep the narration going through written sessions or stories. And if you want your character drawn, just say so!

Homebrew rules

I prefer one Avoid Death per character. Massive damage (triple the Severe Damage threshold) can inflict an additional HP.

How sixter creates a safe table

I prefer to be honest in advance: Echoes of Fate draws from real life in addition to myth. Slavery was present in Ancient Greece, as was mysogyny, war and violence. You will be able to challenge these in-game through your character, or ask me to avoid mentioning them and I will do my best to do so. I will provide a survey regarding triggers, veils and lines so that we are all comfortable playing. X/N/O cards are private messages on Discord or, if we're doing a scene together, you can just say X Card / N Card / O Card out loud.
