About the adventure

The city of Drakkenheim is no more. A meteor hit the city leaving behind ruins of the once glorious city. What is left behind in the remains are treasures, knowledge and powerful artifacts for the taking, for those daring enough to enter. This post apocalyptic city has it shares of monsters and humanoids both villainess and heroic. The aftermath of this meteor left behind magical radiation that still lingers and effects all close enough in it’s haze. And in the thick of haze, Delerium. A mineral with vast powerful arcane potential. It’s usage outside trade is still being researched and used as powerful explosives. Do not linger within Drakkenheim long. For the haze will contaminate any who lingers. It effects anyone living and dead in ways that becomes abominable. And last and not least, come adventurous, come. To the city of Drakkenheim. For treasure, knowledge and magical artifacts. Come who dares.

Character creation

Creating your character

We will start creating characters in Session 0. Any newcomers can opt in for character creation help between sessions. All homebrews must go through DM beforehand. For the most part, keep it within approved classes and subclasses for DnD Beyond. Will share all books I have in terms of classes, spells and features there. It would be quicker to say which books I dont have: Arcana Unleased, Grim Hollow, Humblewood, Tales from the Shadow, Northland, The Illrigger, Lords of the ring, Croocket Moon, Chutulu, Puglist, Gunslinger. You can create characters within all platforms that can be managed by Avrae. That means Excell, DnD. Beyond, and any other platforms that allow Avrae. Avrae is a Discord bot specifically designed for playing DnD. The bot keeps track of your character sheet, hp you have, spells you have prepared, spell slots you have remaining, afflictions if relevant, keeping initiative orders, and even create maps with tokens. For stats, we will use standard array. Starting level will be lvl 1. Mid campaign will follow the average levels of all characters in the party.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

The players should have a Discord account and join specific server dedicated to the campaign. Anything else will be provided by DM.

What Anders Mostue (AndMos) brings to the table

What I bring to the table as a Dungeon Master is a willingness to respect players, make room for both combat and roleplay, and pay close attention to difficulty settings while keeping the game fair and rewarding players for imaginative gameplay. My games are generally a mix between combat and roleplay. I usually don’t use voices.

Homebrew rules

Drinking a potion as a bonus action. Picking up downed players is a bonus action. Talking is a free action, but influencing someone against their will, aka charming/fooling NPC’s takes an action.

How Anders Mostue (AndMos) creates a safe table

What I will go through in session zero is that Drakkenheim is a post apocalyptic ruin. The module contains violence, murder, blood, gore, cannibalism, and body horror. Degenerative mutations that cause physical disfigurement and madness/insanity. Rats, spiders, insects, demons, undead, ghosts, and other monsters. Natural disasters, large-scale loss of life, civil war, displaced persons, and refugees. Moral ambiguity, social/political manipulation, religious zealotry and military nationalism. Too keep it safe, I allow for players to send out X, N, & O's as either private messages, or within any means of communication that are used in and out game. My lines are harm to children, extreme violence and extreme gore. These will not be mentioned during any of my games. My veils are romantic sexual encounters that will fade to black. Torture and sexual abuse will only be mentioned in passing if lore or personal stories related, if applicable. Ask before you do is you are uncertain. I will use session zero to see where the players are in their lines and veils, and come up with an agreement before session 1 that all players will follow. Following that I generally have a open door policy for anyone to just talk about their problems within and outside the game. Real life politics and religion is to be avoided, just in case.
