About the adventure
This is my version of **Shadowrun Sixth World**. We’ll be playing by the rules as written, but the Sixth World you enter will also include some of my own corporations, characters, locations, and storylines woven into the existing Shadowrun setting. The goal is to keep everything that makes Shadowrun what it is—megacorps, runners, magic, cyberware, the Matrix, and a whole lot of bad decisions—while giving our campaign its own identity. This game is designed with **new Shadowrun players in mind**. You do not need to know the rules, understand the Matrix, memorize every piece of gear, or have decades of Shadowrun lore behind you. We’re going to learn the system together while actually playing it. Rather than spending session after session studying rules before anything happens, we'll build characters, take jobs, make mistakes, figure out what works, and gradually become comfortable with the system as the story develops. Expect a story-driven game with investigation, roleplaying, combat, corporate intrigue, questionable employers, dangerous streets, and the occasional plan that goes completely sideways. If you've always wanted to try Shadowrun but were intimidated by its reputation for complexity, **this table is being built specifically for you.**

Meet the Game Master
About me
Hi there! I’m a lifelong tabletop RPG enthusiast with nearly 20 years of experience as a Game Master. Like many, I got my start with the classic Red Box D&D set back in the late 80s, and my passion for storytelling and immersive game-play has only grown since. After rediscovering the hobby in the mid-2000s, I began running games regularly and have been behind the screen ever since—leading weekly in-person campaigns and now expanding into the online space. Over the past few months, I’ve fully immersed myself in virtual tabletop platforms like Roll20, with plans to expand into Foundry VTT to continue enhancing the player experience. As a full-time GM, my focus is on delivering smooth, high-quality, and memorable sessions. I invest heavily in preparation, system mastery, and storytelling to ensure every game feels engaging and worthwhile. Whether you’re a brand-new player or a seasoned veteran, my goal is to create an environment where you can fully dive into the world, your character, and the adventure. My games emphasize rich narrative, immersive world-building, and meaningful player choice. I enjoy weaving together deep story-lines filled with mystery, puzzles, role-play, and tactical combat to create a balanced and rewarding experience. If you’re looking for a consistent, professional GM who is dedicated to making every session count, you’re in the right place.

Creating your character
There will be pre-generated characters available. We also use Commlink6 or ChatGPT to create .JSON codes of the character you want to build and then add it to the Foundry character sheet.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
We use Discord for audio and Foundry VTT for the game. See character creation for other software.
What Michael brings to the table
I put a lot of work into making the world around the players feel like an actual place rather than simply moving tokens from one combat encounter to the next. For Shadowrun, I build and customize the game in **Foundry VTT**, including character sheets, NPCs, maps, tokens, vehicles, locations, handouts, and other visual elements designed specifically for our campaign. I also use ambient sound and music when it helps establish the mood of the scene—from neon-soaked Seattle streets and corporate offices to nightclubs, warehouses, and whatever questionable location your fixer sends you to next. My GM style is **story-driven, visual, and improvisational**. I like giving players a situation rather than a predetermined solution and seeing what they decide to do with it. Shadowrun is especially good for that. A job may begin with a simple objective, but how you investigate it, plan the run, deal with contacts, approach security, or survive when the plan falls apart is largely up to you. Combat can be tactical and dangerous, but combat is not always the answer. Negotiation, stealth, hacking, drones, contacts, legwork, intimidation, and occasionally running very fast in the opposite direction are all perfectly legitimate solutions. We primarily play **Rules as Written**, especially while we're learning Shadowrun Sixth World together. At the same time, I don't want the game grinding to a halt while we spend twenty minutes searching through a rulebook. If a rule is unclear, I'll make a reasonable ruling, keep the game moving, and we can learn the exact rule afterward. I also enjoy expanding published Shadowrun material with my own corporations, NPCs, locations, side stories, and consequences based on what the players actually do. Your decisions can change where the story goes. Most importantly, this is a table where **new players are expected to ask questions**. You don't need to know what every Matrix action does, memorize the gear catalog, or understand every piece of Shadowrun terminology before sitting down. We'll figure it out together. Bring a runner. We'll find them a job.

Safety
How Michael creates a safe table
My games are generally pretty straightforward in terms of content. There may be combat, gunfights, swordplay, monsters, criminals, and characters getting hurt or killed, but I don't focus on graphic descriptions, gore, sexual content, or deliberately disturbing material. Most of the violence is presented at about the same level you would expect from a typical tabletop RPG, action movie, or video game. I don't use extensive formal safety procedures at my table. My expectation is that players communicate like adults, treat each other respectfully, and let me know if there is something specific they would rather avoid. If something comes up during play that genuinely bothers you, just say so or message me privately and we'll move past it. The goal is simple: have a good time, tell a great story, and make sure everyone at the table can enjoy the game.
