About the adventure
This is a place where you survive however you can. Lucky for you, you've got a job and some really messed up friends! The party has agreed to undertake a mission into the polluted city sewers in search of some lost "merchandise." There have been reports of questionably large rats appearing in the canals. Could this have something to do with the missing loot? Or could it be the syndicate manipulating supply chains again? One thing's for sure—rent is due, and you really need this job. This campaign is geared for morally gray characters, and comedy is a core element. Think of yourselves as anti-heroes as you take on corrupt aristocrats and despicable crime lords! Find your place in a living city where the NPCs and villains grow with the players. Stroll through vibrant markets, infiltrate shady syndicates, orchestrate heists, customize your hideout, and maybe even make a name for yourself. No generative AI used in this adventure. Creating your character
I use D&D beyond and own the 2024 PHB, Tasha's Cauldron, Ravenloft the Horrors within for your character creation. Third party and custom classes are welcome, but require approval. We will not track ammunition and we won't strictly track encumbrance (within reason). We'll use 2024 (aka 5.5) rules when creating characters! Player characters will start at level 3 and progress via milestones. I will send an invitation link to the campaign and discord when you join! If you're a newer player, I am here to help you with your first character creation! I'll be in touch shortly after you sign up to start working on your character design! Making a character for the first (honestly even third) time can be a daunting task. Let me take that stress away and walk you through it. I even have pre-made characters for you to choose from if you want to jump right in!
What to expect
Preparing for the session
All players will receive a free 1-on-1 session during which we'll find your character's place in the city. This mini session will help us get acquainted and allow you to test drive your character before the campaign begins! In this campaign we will use: Discord, D&D Beyond, and at times roll20. If you need help with any of these I am just a message away!
What Tox brings to the table
I bring each table their own unique story. I bring you genuine effort and connection. People say my games are immersive, tactical, creative, funny, fun, and most of all inclusive. I use webcam for extra effect as I like to pantomime and make faces for NPCs. You'll have ambient music, at times theatrical music, sound FX(voice made of course), and a whole host of reoccurring NPCs with unique voices (boy do I try). I focus heavily on theater of the mind to keep the story moving, switching to a battle grid whenever position and tactics matter most. I dedicate time to prepare for each session individually. I am a full-time dungeon master, which brings your character a level of attention that is hard to find elsewhere! I try to keep rules close to what's written, but everything is bendable. Rule of Cool prevails for the sake of continuity, comedy, and clarity. New players, I really do love to help out and teach. It's not a hassle for me, don't hesitate to ask anything!
Homebrew rules
Critical Hits are double damage rolled. Drinking or giving a potion can be done with a bonus action Character death, possible, but I will give you warning before you step into a deadly situation.
