About the adventure
Once upon a time, there was a witch, who traded her heart for a place to live. And over time, people came to that place and the witch pushed them away, unsuccessfully, until the house became a home. This is the story of the people in that house, both permanent staff and guests, who visit and then leave, or who live there for a long time. We will play out their stories, unlocking new chapters and opening up more stories to explore. Every session changes the game and the characters. Each session, you can play a different character, or the same one. The GM keeps her physical copy synced with the online version, so playing online affects the characters and stories in her unique physical copy as well. About me
Hello, prospective adventurer! You've come to the right place to find a facilitator for your role-playing journey! ME AND MY STYLE: i've been running games since the 90's, and have been a game designer since 2010. I tend towards light-hearted games with heavy role-play, and fights that are meaningful. I run a lot of Powered by the Apocalypse systems, such as Thirsty Sword Lesbians, Brindlewood Bay, and my own game, Threadbare. I also run Fate, Gumshoe, and Dramasystem. Some bona-fides: I wrote Threadbare RPG, several adventures including Ennie-winner Can't Sleep Clowns Will Eat Me, co-authored Mx Universe (a non-binary/trans fashion pageant LARP game) and 20 years worth of technical documentation. I am very good introducing new players to the hobby in general, using one of the many many many game systems that are lighter mechanically and more accessible to new folks. I no longer run Dungeons & Dragons; it was my first RPG, but my style doesn't mesh with it very well, and there are hundreds of great DMs out there who specialize in D&D. In particular, if you're a woman or non-binary person (NB of all stripes) or a group thereof who are looking for a great introduction to role playing games with a non-threatening, supportive female GM, please get in touch! In addition to running games online, I'm located in Las Vegas, Nevada. I am available for in-person groups and one-shots, if all players are fully vaccinated for covid-19. I'm willing to do bachelor/bachelorette parties in person if all players are fully vaccinated. For everyone's safety, I will bring a non-participating partner with me to any in-person parties at hotel rooms and any bachelor parties regardless of venue. Creating your character
In Yazeba's, the cast of characters is pre-set by the system, so we will play characters from the canonical game. Will you be a "heartless" witch? A chivalrous frog chef? A chaotic demon child? An ancient and terribly caustic vampire? A bumbling villain? You decide at the start of each session! And you're not limited to just one character, either!

Preparing for the session
No prep is required for the game. You will choose a character at the start of the chapter, which will usually be the start of each session.
What Stephanie Bryant (mortaine) brings to the table
I'll provide the characters, the VTT with chapters and character sheets, and guidance on how to play the game and the mini-games. I also provide a Discord server where we will play the game and chat. This game will use a live-text format; we will meet at the same time, but will interact using a text chat in real time, instead of voice audio.

We will have a lines & veils discussion, open door policy, and the X-card available. I've selected anything that could happen as a content warning; all topics are flexible. There are hints at some emotional trauma baked into the setting, but there's nothing in this game that must be there.
