With Mystery Date with a One-Shot you show up with your smile and your curiosity and I provide: *A secret adventure drawn from the season, pop culture, classic movies, ancient mythology or whatever else *A selection of pre-gen characters with built in ties to the setting, each other, and a secret to keep or expose in play! *Fun mechanics to explore with unique threats, exciting environments, and perhaps some experimental techniques! These one-shots are being built with publishing in mind, and if you play in one of these adventures, when they're ready for publishing, you get a copy to inflict on your own players at your own table!

About me
I've been gaming and running games for over thirty years, and been a professional freelancer and indie designer for over twenty. (Sentences like this sometimes makes one question their life choices.) I also spent almost ten years teaching English as a second or foreign language from kindergartners to conversation seeking adults as well as for those who had professional needs. Classroom management is a little easier than herding cats, and that's just a little easier than GMing strangers, and I've got the chops for all three. (Ask me for pictures of my cats.) This session will come with pre-gen characters for you to consider at the start of the session. We will use Heart of Daggers to manage sheets and some other management, so if you don't get yourself a free account. It's a fun site! https://heartofdaggers.com/

Preparing for the session

Homebrew rules
I run Daggerheart with a Rules As Intended philosophy. Which, in the case of Daggerheart marries ideas of Rules as Written and Rule of Cool quite nicely. Any other rules variations may come with the adventure in question, and will be introduce as we play!

How F Young creates a safe table
Almost all lines or veils are negotable, but if anything is tied close to the storyline for this mystery adventure, it will be made clear so you can choose if this is the right adventure for you! Before game we'll use The Deck of Player's Safety to cover everyone's basic needs. We'll use a redlight-greenlight system while playing together to protect your enjoyment at the table and avoid topics that will make things un-fun for everyone!
