About me

Hi! I’m Dylan. 📖 Storyteller 🙋🏾‍♂️ POC 🌈 Queer 🧠 Neurodivergent Let's tell a story! That's the philosophy behind my approach to Dungeons & Dragons. I want to work with you and your companions at the table to craft a compelling narrative that you'll remember for long after we’ve put the dice away. I've been playing D&D for eight years. I've been a DM for two, but boy, do I regret picking it up so late. This is the most fun I've ever had playing a game. I want to share that joy with you. Whether it's your first game of D&D or whether you're a grizzled veteran, what we all want is that sense of adventure and accomplishment we felt when first rolling dice or reading that first fantasy novel. My games are highly narrative-driven and reward those who invest in their character and the world we build together. We don't just sling dice here. We discover how your character fits into the world. If that sounds good to you, I invite you to come and sit at my table. There's always room for one more!

Character creation

Creating your character

Characters will start at level 1. Players will have access to character creation options from the 2024 Player's Handbook. I will provide access to shared content on D&D Beyond. Players are free to create their character on their own. I will also be available to guide players in creating their characters.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Players should create an account on Owlbear Rodeo, which is the virtual tabletop (https://www.owlbear.rodeo/). Players should create an account on Discord, which is the voice and video chat software we will use to run games. Players should create an account on D&D Beyond, where we will create our characters (https://www.dndbeyond.com/en).

What Dylan brings to the table

The game will be run using 2024 Rules As Written, with some exceptions. Rule of Cool will apply in exceptional circumstances only. I use Dungeon Turns to manage out of combat portions of the game. An introduction will be given during session zero. My games are roleplay-heavy, and I use various voices to breathe life into NPCs. However, players are not expected to do the same. My games are a balanced mixture of exploration, roleplaying, and combat.

Homebrew rules

Homebrew rules are minor and will be discussed during session zero.

After and in between sessions, the group will debrief and take up any concerns.
