About the adventure
(Thumbnail art drawn by yours truly!) Welcome to Deadfall, a Tier 3 D&D 5.5e adventure! _____________________________ This campaign is effectively, arcane espionage, where the players are situated as agents for the Red Wizards, working together with members of the higherarchy to divert a catastrophy not only to the nation of Thay, but to the world as a whole. Expect infiltrating cabals and secret wizard cells, sabotaging plots and slaying dastardly villains whose schemes are close to fruition. Magic, is very much key in Deadfall. Your items are great and benefit spellcasters in new and exciting ways, but even warriors at arms will find use for the many, many magical weapons and armors available. Combat is high-end, where you are facing off against terrifying opponents in high-level gameplay. Thay is a dark and oppresive thaumaturgical regime, and playing through the adventure you will encounter all manner of shady and conniving individuals, many of which you will have to work together with, should you stand a chance at averting catastrophy. _____________________________ Standard Expectations: - LGBTQ+ friendly - Custom chosen music, for combat and roleplay that dynamically changes during play. - Well-conducted and exciting story-telling. - Immersive and interactive roleplay _____________________________

Meet the Game Master
About me
Hello there! Thank you for taking a moment to learn about me. I am GenerousHeal, otherwise known as Spyro, and I am a Game Designer by trade. I am also a big fan of TTRPGs, with the most experience playing Dungeons & Dragons (5th edition), Pathfinder (both 1st and 2nd edition), Vampire: The Masquerade and Draw Steel! With D&D I have about seven years of experience to draw from, pathfinder about four years, Vampire three and Draw Steel only about a month since its release (released basically a month ago). I also wish to host more Final Fantasy XIV tabletop games, as I've been a big fan of the final fantasy games since childhood. Beyond my tabletop experience alone, I mostly stream my D&D games over on Twitch and YouTube under the RuinousPathsDND account. If you wish to use those sessions to gage if I am a good fit for your gaming tastes, I suggest you have a look! YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC0XCWUoCHxWd9VfsSdrsk-g (recommend checking the Live Streams tab for more recent sessions) Twitch: https://www.twitch.tv/ruinouspathsdnd Everyone is welcome on my table, so long as they take care to play well with others. LGBTQ+ folks are obviously included. AI generated content won't be found on any game I host, nor do I enjoy seeing it on the table even if brought in by a paying player. When it comes to campaigns I host, great effort is put to better fit the story of the characters that the players bring to the table. Even when running officially published modules, expect to find your character's background and actions shaping the game as we play. If you are a fan of real-play games, or enjoy a good session of critical role, dimension20, world of io, or perhaps are looking to simply roll some dice and enjoy a good session of play, I'm the GM you are looking for! And of course, don't forget to love each other! See you at the table!

Creating your character
We will host a session 0 during our first meeting to undergo character creation and an introduction to the setting that the adventure takes place in. We will be all together in a discord voice call and using Roll20 or D&D Beyond to host the character sheets. Roll20 is my go to app for map-usage until D&D Beyond and Foundry cease to cause me troubles. Stats can be taken by a variety of ways, between Stat Array, Point Buy or Rolling for Stats. Players that choose to Roll for Stats, roll 4d6, dropping the lowest, six times; Then, if the total number is below 70, they can try again once more, after which they choose which stat array they want to use from the two (Example: first stat array rolled is a 7 | 10 | 16 | 6 | 10 | 12. Thats a total of 61 which is below 70, so you can try once again) Once a player has rolled for the second time for an array, they can choose between the two arrays for their stats, or choose to use Point Buy or Standard Array. All characters start the level appropriate set by the adventure, using the 2024 official rules for Dungeons & Dragons. If you wish to use any other material, it is good to tell me during session 0, or in private, and we can see what we can do. Homebrew is fair game, but so is also: - Unearthed Arcana content - 3rd party content - Custom / self-made content
What to expect
Preparing for the session
As mentioned, you will need a Roll20 and Discord account at minimum to play, where I will give you a link for both to join both the game and discord server respectively. Do not worry, they are both free to create and you won't need much beyond that, except: - a microphone - a headset Cameras are not necessary to participate in the game, though I've had players use them regardless for reactions. Up to player preference.
What GenerousHeal brings to the table
As for what I can provide: - I am an experienced GM who has hosted dozens upon dozens of short adventures in Adventurer's League (those who know will understand when I say I have hosted for kids multiple times). I have also run many games both on and off stream for friends for years, with campaigns lasting for years at a time. I know my way around th content to make it fun to play through and am certain you will have a great time on the ride. - I can do fairly good voice acting? I will leave you to be the judge of that, you can check out our streams for that kind of insight! (excuse my microphone quality, sometimes Discord decides to be really annoying about it >:T) - I provide music! Usually tracks play on Roll20 or Discord to provide ambience, or a nice combat track to accompany encounters, social or tactical ones. - I am a Rules as Written DM first but am not above allowing for cool ideas to fly past the rules, provided it is for special occassions. Enforcing the rules makes for the moment they break to feel more special.... or when the rules are really dumb. Who designed mounted combat like this?- - The difficulty of encounters depends on what kind of adventure the party are looking for. The difficulty of the adventure also depends on the same thing, where I can prepare the content in a way to appeal to the party's desires, either running it as is, making things more difficult for a gritty experience or mellowing out the tougher parts for the adventure for a story-focused exploration. - If you have more questions as to how I run my games, feel free to ask me during Session 0!
Homebrew rules
My homebrew rules usually are chosen by the party during session 0. Some additional rules that the group can choose to add to the game, beyond what 2024 offers, are for example: - Regaining Hit Points while currently at 0 Hit Points, causes a character to also take 1 level of Exhaustion to simulate the exhaustion of battle and the difficulty of prolonged combat. Penalties from exhaustion do not apply on Death Saving Throws. All levels of Exhaustion are removed upon the end of a Long Rest. - Sorcerers can use Spell Points instead of Spell Slots as designed in the 2014 system to allow for more differentiation between spellcaster archtypes. - Potion drinking is a Bonus Action for yourself, and an Action for others. If you drink a Healing Potion as an Action, you regain the maximum number of Hit Points it can provide. And more are available, depending on the play experience you are looking for.
