Creating your character

Each player designates which role they wish to take from the following three: Tank, Healer or DPS. Then, they choose which class best suits their character's abilities. Warriors and Paladins for example are both tanks, but play very differently from one another. Once a character has chosen a class, that is pretty much it! Getting familiar with the character is all that is required to start a game in the FFIXV TTRPG!

Preparing for the session

You will need Discord account at minimum to play, and I plan on utilizing either Foundry or Roll20 to host the game. I will give you a link to join the Discord server upon signing up, and a link to the game once we have enough people to play. They are both free to create and you won't need much beyond that, except: - a microphone - a headset Cameras are not necessary to participate in the game, though I've had players use them regardless for reactions. Up to player preference.

What GenerousHeal brings to the table

As for what I can provide: - I am an experienced GM who has a variety of TTRPG systems over the years. I have also run many games both on and off stream for friends, with campaigns lasting for decades at a time. I know my way around the content to make it fun to play through and am certain you will have a great time on the ride. - I can do fairly good voice acting? I will leave you to be the judge of that, you can check out our streams for that kind of insight! (excuse my microphone quality, sometimes Discord decides to be really annoying about it >:T) - I provide music! Usually tracks play on Roll20 or Discord to provide ambience, or a nice combat track to accompany encounters, social or tactical ones. - I am a Rules as Written DM first but am not above allowing for cool ideas to fly past the rules, provided it is for special occassions. Enforcing the rules makes for the moment they break to feel more special.... or when the rules are really dumb. Who designed mounted combat like this?- - The difficulty of encounters depends on what kind of adventure the party are looking for. The difficulty of the adventure also depends on the same thing, where I can prepare the content in a way to appeal to the party's desires, either running it as is, making things more difficult for a gritty experience or mellowing out the tougher parts for the adventure for a story-focused exploration. - If you have more questions as to how I run my games, feel free to ask me during Session 0!

Homebrew rules

The FFIXV TTRPG is still very new, and there is plenty of homebrew we can use to better adjust the experience the party is looking for. For example, most characters start at level 30, but for new players on the game, I advise we can use some simplistic level 10 character sheets to make learning the game simpler. Alternatively, I also use special items that can change how your character plays, and allows for greater costumization. Imagine if your loot in FFIXV wasn't just stats to be replaced with better loot later or glamor to be worn, but gameplay changing materials!

How GenerousHeal creates a safe table

I utilize all manner of safety tools to provide a safe and comfortable experience. My most common are Aftercare, Debriefing, Lines and Veils and Open Door. Session 0 is mandatory for all games I run.
