About the adventure
Ballad of the Sword Coast — A Westmarches-Styled Campaign The Sword Coast is only the beginning. Beyond its shores and cities lies a wider Faerûn filled with old ruins, political fault lines, forgotten gods, and dangers waiting in places where maps run thin. Each month, the campaign turns toward a new region of the world, inviting adventurers to step into a fresh corner of the Realms and uncover whatever stories, threats, and treasures are waiting there. --- Quick facts - Format: Westmarches campaign (drop-in, drop-out system), with each month focused on a different region of Faerûn - Characters: Level requirements shared during scheduling. Best suited for heroes ready to travel widely and take on varied threats - Playstyle: Exploration, quests, mystery, faction tension, and flexible adventure pacing with a mix of combat and roleplay - Ideal for: New players and veteran players who enjoy a living world, changing locales, and the excitement of stepping into an ongoing shared story What to expect - A westmarches campaign built around a shifting map of Faerûn, where each month opens a new chapter in a different land. - Adventures that move from city streets to wilderness trails, from political intrigue to ancient ruins. - Encounters shaped by the region of the month, with different enemies, cultures, and challenges every season. - Roleplay that rewards curiosity, alliances, and the willingness to put a name to your deeds. - A living world where player choices, discoveries, and successes leave lasting marks on each region explored. How it plays This is a Westmarches campaign for players who enjoy variety, momentum, and a sense of discovery. Sessions are designed to feel self-contained while still contributing to a larger, expanding story across the Realms. The tone is adventurous, expansive, and occasionally dangerous. Faerûn is not presented as a single road, but as a continent full of turning points, hidden paths, and places worth fighting for. Every month brings a new stage, and every expedition adds another verse to the ballad.

Meet the Game Master
About me
Hey! I'm a Game Designer and an educator with over 6 years of experience in this field. I've also been playing and GM-ing Dungeons & Dragons 5e for about 6 years now. I have experience running short & long campaigns, one-shots, anthology-adventures, and even West Marches. My focus in D&D is to find a balance among Exploration, Combat, and Social Interaction. I try my best to achieve that with efficient preparation paired with skilled improv. Also, I'm brutal with combat if players are looking for a challenge :)

Creating your character
For beginners (and others as well): Pre-generated character sheets will be provided at the table. But if you feel like bringing your own characters, here's what you need to know: Setting: Forgotten Realms (Forgotten Realms only). Location tie-in: Sword Coast. Allowed content: All official classes and races for the Forgotten Realms. No Unearthed Arcana content. Rule set: 2014 5e rules (PHB). Level: Character levels depend on the scheduled Adventure. Players will be informed during scheduling. Multiclassing is allowed per the Player's Handbook. Ability scores: Standard array or point buy (your choice). Equipment: Starting Equipment as per class/background (take the standard package). Backstory: Short (lite) backstory encouraged, to help you roleplay. If you've played a session of this campaign before, feel free to integrate those events as backstory leading into the next session. Factions: Pick one of the five Forgotten Realms factions if you like (not compulsory at all): - Harpers - Order of the Gauntlet - Emerald Enclave - Lords' Alliance - Zhentarim
What to expect
Preparing for the session
To ensure the game runs smoothly, please have the following ready before the session: 1. Virtual Tabletop Create an account on Owlbear Rodeo. This will be our VTT where maps, tokens, and combat will take place. 2. Voice & Communication We will use Discord for voice chat and text coordination. You will receive an invite to the server before the session. 3. Dice & Character Sheet Please have: - A set of dice (physical or digital), and - Your character sheet ready. Both physical sheets and digital sheets are perfectly fine — use whichever you’re comfortable with. Tip for new players: If you’re unsure how to prepare your sheet or roll dice digitally, that’s fine. We’ll quickly walk through it at the start of the session. 🎲
What Anay brings to the table
What I Bring to the Table - Immersive handouts and maps to help visualize the world and the journey. 🗺️ - Distinct character voices for NPCs and enemies to make encounters feel alive. - A roleplay-forward style of play — conversations, choices, and character moments matter. - Engaging combat encounters when conflict arises. ⚔️ Playstyle I encourage: - Creative manoeuvres and unconventional solutions. - Strong roleplay moments, both in and out of combat. - Players leaning into their characters’ personalities, motivations, and flaws. If you want to try something unusual, describe it. We’ll resolve it with the rules where possible, and with fair judgment where needed. Table Environment The goal is simple: A respectful and safe table where people can relax, collaborate, and tell a good story together.
