About the adventure
The most powerful mage in Thay, Szass Tam, has begun preparations for a grand ritual that will see his grip over the nation become absolute. However, the Zulkir of Necromancy is not the only mage that covets power in Thay. Rather than capitulating, a rival archmage has hired you to oppose him. As a party of exceptional (and more importantly, disposable) individuals you came well recommended. Your mission is to covertly confound the ritual, and the pay is more than generous should you live to spend it. In a nation where treachery is expected, and unfettered access to the darkest magics is routine, one thing is certain: Szass Tam must die. This will be a high level campaign, where players are limited only by the need to remain under the radar of divination. Szass Tam is a uniquely powerful foe, with the strength of an entire nation of unscrupulous archmagi at his beck and call. Expect a medium length campaign, where a normal group will take about 20 weeks to complete the base content. I am always happy to go off the rails, so a group that wants to explore the setting a bit more may take longer.

About me
Hi there, my name is David, and I wear many hats: nerd, nurse, father and more, but on this website the crown I wear is that of a Dungeon Master! I specialize in running 1:1 duets play-by-post games, as well as high level tier 3-4+ play. I’m based in the UK and am broadly available to talk 8 pm- 12 pm UK time, which is 3 pm - 7pm EST. This is the time window that I write most my daily posts. My pricing varies by the amount of skill and time that go into a game, where simpler games such as starter adventures cost $40 a week, and more complex games like my level 20+ games cost $60 a week.

Creating your character
Characters should be created on dnd beyond. I can either pull your sheet across to foundry or you can roll from dndbeyond into the tabletop. All official content is permitted. I am generally quite permissive of special requests as long as players don’t stray too heavily into munchkin territory. I am open to any discussions involving 3rd party content.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Preparation Guide: Essentials: 🎤 Join us on Discord with a free account. Using DnD Beyond For your character sheet: ♟ Sign up for a free account on the DnD Beyond website to partake in the game. 🤖 Familiarize yourself with the Avrae bot used for dice rolls, and how to link your character to the bot. Further instructions will be in discord to access the virtual tabletop.
What David brings to the table
- Years of experience running DnD adventures. - Access to my extensive compendiums on DnD Beyond, featuring a vast collection of official books. I will purchase any additional content on request within reason. - A collection of accents and voices; don’t expect professional voice acting, but I’m not afraid of sounding stupid. - A large collection of beautiful battlemaps, token borders and other supplementary material. - Generally a Rules as Written approach but Rule of Cool may be used if the situation is appropriate.
Homebrew rules
Silvery barbs is a nono and I reserve the right to ban or nerf anything that breaks game balance eg upcasting conjure minor elementals on a sword bard. Super inspiration of the week as voted by the players.

How David creates a safe table
I will be using the RPG Consent Checklist as a safety tool, which players should fill out beforehand and send to me on Discord. I also will talk to you in session 0 before we start about expectations, logistics and any safety concerns not covered by the checklist.
