About me

My name is Aidan Ward, and I run The Inn Between, a queer fantasy roleplaying community in London. I have been a Dungeon Master for over four years and have run thousands of hours of games. I am a “yes, and” person when it comes to roleplay, but I also make sure we stick closely to the rules and internal logic, so nothing breaks the game or immersion. I run sandbox and open-world D&D. Those are not just buzzwords. I am all about freedom of choice and making sure players never feel railroaded.

Character creation

Creating your character

Players will need to arrange a zoom call prior to the first session. This will be a 4 hour session which will cover character creation and a backstory session, this is to ensure that you have a character that fits the tone and themes of the adventure, as well as having a character that is tied into the lore of the world.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Ensure you have a D&D Beyond, and a Foundry account.

What Aidan brings to the table

I run an open world approach to Dungeons and Dragons, and am not a story teller who rail roads, at least not in a way that feels overt or forced. I believe in tying characters to the world, so you feel like you're a part of the story, and you have an investment in the world. My games are roleplay focused and are certainly grim dark in tone. You can expect be to immersed with dense lore, character voices, and music.
