Creating your character

You will create your character on D&D Beyond ahead of our first session (if you need help with this, drop me a message and I’ll arrange a walkthrough for you). ⭐ You will start at Level 1. ⭐ Manually roll your stats (you can Google how to do this, and re-roll 1s). ⭐ Use 2024 (5/5.5) rules, classes and features. ⭐ Do not use anything from The Book of Ebon Tides, Call of Cthulu Torchlight or Astarion’s Book of Hungers please 🚫

Preparing for the session

You will need to download and have an account for: ❤️ D&D Beyond - for character creation and access to campaign 💛 Roll20 - for the virtual tabletop (VTT) 💜 Discord - join Phoenix’s server to stream/connect during gameplay

What Phoenix Rose brings to the table

🎭 A fantastic array of characters with unique voices, perspectives and offering plenty of opportunities for role play and character development ⚔️ Combat that is interesting, challenges your smarts as well as your brawn, with meaningful, high stakes in every encounter 🔍 Clues hidden in plain sight, easily missed by some, and plenty of mysteries to solve 👑 Player choices that truly change the world and shape the narrative - your backstories matter and your integrity will be challenged as you move through the world 🎲 A professional level VTT 💛 Safety and comfort is a priority, especially in a game like this, so Consent checklists are used and then laid out clearly in Session 0 🌈 Inclusivity and diversity - not just at the table but in the game. 95% of characters in this game RaW are white males — not in my game they’re not. Expect a more diverse world whenever you sit at one of my tables.

Rule of Cool 😎 - never be afraid to ask if you can try to do something different to what’s on paper… you tell me what you want to do, and if it’s cool enough, I’ll worry about the rules to make it happen 👌

How Phoenix Rose creates a safe table

Safety is a priority at my table. 🚫 Consent and Boundaries Checklist - there is a form I require everyone to look at and inform me privately about things they do/do not want to experience within game 👌 Session Zero - there will be a free session zero ahead of the campaign starting where I will go over the results of the checklist as well as outline any rules about behaviour at the table ❌ In-Game “Nope” - if something is happening in-game that you are triggered or upset by, hold up an ‘X’ card or make the symbol with your arms and we will pause the session and do a check in 😌 After-Care - after every session we will take ten to fifteen minutes to decompress, give Stars and Wishes, and talk through any feelings about the session we just had
