About the adventure
You're an investigator in 1920s New England. Hired to find a University professor after he suddenly vanished on an archaeological dig, it's just another job until you start encountering bizarre eldritch horrors. As you make your way to the assignment, unsettling incidents and encounters on the road reveal that forces beyond mortal ken are abroad in the region. A lighthouse goes inexplicably dark. Something sinister stalks the Arkham road on a stormy night. Armed only with your wits and (if you're lucky) a firearm, will you survive and get to the bottom of the cosmic incursions, or will you go mad in the face of the unknowable horrors?

About me
Gather round the table. Let's tell some stories. I'm Jack, and I run light-hearted games where we spin an awesome yarn with the fickle help of the dice. I started GMing for family a few years ago and caught the collaborative storytelling bug. I believe TTRPGs are for everyone and love running fun and accessible games for people of all ages. As a creative writer (MA, BA) with some published short fiction and poetry, I'm itching to meet your characters and weave their stories into the adventure. I also love using my amateur dramatics experience to bring NPCs to life! I have several years experience adapting / writing and running roleplaying games for new and returning players, including neurodiverse players and younger players. Dwi'n siarad Cymraeg / I speak Welsh! "No Gen AI" tag This tag is on my profile because I will not knowingly use generative AI in my games or listings in solidarity with other creatives. I don't ban use of AI by my players, but I do ask that those who choose to use it share it in moderation. Banner image by David Revoy https://davidrevoy.com/

Creating your character
Premade characters will be available to get players straight into the action! If you'd like to make something bespoke using the Call of Cthulhu 7e rules, I'd be happy to guide you. As the campaign is geared towards new investigators, most characters will have little or no Cthulhu Mythos or magical ability.
What to expect

Video is encouraged but not required.
What Jack of Dice brings to the table
I run inclusive and collaborative storytelling experiences where your ideas and actions shape the way the game progresses. I love a slow-burn mystery and adore luxuriating in the building tension towards revealing the eldritch horror... My sessions focus on how the characters move the story forward, supported by but not beholden to the rules. I like to flex the game rules to allow awesome story moments. I'll use my amateur dramatics experience to bring non-player characters to life. If you love solving mysteries, deadly, pulpy action and a healthy smattering of existential dread, this is the game for you!
Homebrew rules
I use the optional luck rules.
