About the adventure
Kelamity Academy is supposed to be a place where you and other young people learn from extraordinary teachers, forge friendships, and prepare for your future. Discover your talents. Join extracurricular activities. Take part in the occasional hallway race and go to detention for it. Apart from magical technology and secret parties, student life is anything but ordinary, as something has been happening at Kelamity Academy: Students are disapearing! At first, they're written off as isolated incidents... but... then your roommate Riley vanishes! Alegedly, the Academy is investigating, but that hasn't stopped the rumors from spreading. Sure, you could leave it to the institutions... after all you came here to learn... but for one reason or another you can't keep your hands away from the case. - - - - - - - Inspired by the campaign frame 'Castle High' and elements of 'Strixhaven', Kelamity Academy is a vibrant yet cozy urban fantasy mystery campaign that holds a fun adventure for newcomers and experienced players alike! Kelamity Academy is a character-driven Daggerheart campaign focused on roleplay, investigation, exploration, and school life. Expect cozy everyday moments and ridiculous classroom banter, as well as magical situations alongside a gradually deepening mystery and moments of genuine danger.

About me
I've been playing Pen&Paper since 2015 and GMing since about 2018. But storytelling has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. When I discovered Pen&Paper I quickly realized that DMing is THE creative output I didn't know I was made for. Building worlds, weaving plots, portraying memorable NPCs, and watching players change the story through their choices... just creating an amazing colletive story, is exactly what I thrive on... after all Pen&Paper is just a collective hallucination and improv theatre, is it not? :p Over the years I've run everything from classic high fantasy and gothic horror to sci-fi adventures. Star Wars, zombie apocylpses or a modern boarding school for kids with special abilities - my head is filled with ideas that long to be experienced and shaped through roleplay and shiny click-clacks! My passion for Pen&Paper truly has no off-switch. Writing 28 different letters filled with clues for a mystery? Oh yes. Drawing Maps and Characters? Yes. Running a One-Shot for a 10th birthday? Count me in. Spending hours perfecting dynamic lighting or creating playlists for every possible scene? My understanding of me-time. Thanks to my never ending Hyperfocus.

Creating your character
Character creation will start in the second half of session 0 and be completed by Session 1. You will start your journey at Kelamity Academy as Level 1 first-years, roughly 16 y.o. (or your ancestry's equivalent). Feel free to use the core rules, the Hope & Fear expansion, as well as the homebrew classes Machinist and Artificer, which I can provide if you're interested. It is entirely up to you how you keep your character sheet. You can create your Character in Demiplane and import it into Roll20, use a PDF, or have a physical character sheet. However, the shiny dice have to stay on the shelf, as all rolls will be made through Roll20.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You need Discord, a microphone, a webcam and Roll20. Optional: A Demiplane account, if you want to import you character sheet into Roll20.
What Mika brings to the table
Kelamity Academy is a world you will discover through a variety of ways: - Synchronized music for ambiance, fights and dramatic story moments - High-quality maps on Roll20 - NPC images and scenaric descriptions - Unique NPCs through light voice acting, facial expressions and mannerisms - Virtual and accoustic props - Your own contribution! You can create a club, place, or NPC and leave your mark on Kelamity Academy My main focus as a GM lies on immersion, cinematic descriptions and memorable roleplay. You will experience a world that feels alive, as the choices you make (or don't make) will have consequences. NPCs will have their own lives, motivations and ways of responding to what happens around them. In my opinion rules are there for a reason, but they are just a suggestion after all. So if they ever get in the way of a fun, brilliant or absolutely stupid idea... It is time for the good old rule of cool!
Homebrew rules
Your character can join up to two extracurricular activities and gain a +1 experience for each year they remain a member of the club.

How Mika creates a safe table
During Session 0 you will fill out a Lines and Veils document so I know which topics to avoid or handle with care. During Sessions: You can always message me privately on Discord or simply go afk if anything makes you uncomfortable, so I can adjust the scene accordingly - no explanation or justification needed. After Sessions: My Sessions always end with a round of Stars and Wishes, followed by Make it Meme. Because what is better than a fun session? Right, making memes about it! We will generally use this time to reflect on the session. If there isanything you want to talk about afterwards, I'm also available via pm or a chat after the session.
