About the adventure
This is a game for 4-5 players who are new to Daggerheart/TTRPGs, or want a refresher of the rules and playstyle. We will be playing the game in a way known as "rules as written". This means we will only use the official ruleset and no homebrew content. This is so that by the end of the adventure you have a good understanding of the Daggerheart game system. The adventure is "The Sablewood Messengers", an official Daggerheart quick start adventure designed to introduce you to the game. We will use the pre-made characters and before the adventure begins we'll discuss the table safety tools. If you know nothing about Daggerheart or TTRPGs in general, then this is the table for you. We'll take things slow, there'll be plenty of hand holding if required, and there are no stupid questions.

Meet the Game Master
About me
I'm a UK based software developer and content creator. I've been playing D&D for over 20 years and DM'ing it for over 15 of those. I've also been been running Daggerheart since it's release and I'm a GM for multiple DH tables. I run games for people of all levels of TTRPG experience, but my speciality lies in introducing the game to people who have never played before or who have taken a break and want to get back into it again. I value inclusivity and strive to ensure everyone who wants to play can play, regardless of gender, age, sexual orientation, or race. I know that for some people the world of TTRPGs can seem daunting or filled with gatekeeping personalities. I strive to make sure none of that is found at any table I run. If you'd like to see examples of my playstyle you can search for RollplayDungeon on Social media. There are livestreams and clips from livestreams across Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok.

Creating your character
We will be using the official pre-made characters. Before the session we'll take some time for you to get to know your characters and ask any questions.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
To join this adventure you will need a Discord account as well as a free account on Demiplane. Ensure you have a working webcam and microphone (these are essential as games work better when we can see each other). Everything else will be taken care of.
What Mo brings to the table
As a GM I will be the first one to put on different (often silly and very badly accented) voices. I'll set the tone so that you feel comfortable and know that you can be free to explore your character in a safe space. For this adventure we'll be referring to the rules-as-written, however in true Daggerheart fashion: we will always do what's best for the narrative. Sometimes that means we'll need to bend the rules slightly for the sake of the story - and that is always better than bending the story for the sake of the rules. My games are always a chill space where questions are encouraged. I will never expect you to know anything and I'll happily explain something as often as needed.
Homebrew rules
There will be no homebrew rules used in this one-shot.

How Mo creates a safe table
We will discuss our Lines and Veils. Depending on the needs of the group as a whole, we can use cards as well held up on video.
