About the adventure

New players welcome & encouraged! WHERE: This is a setting from my homebrew world of Nidagai filled with fantastic beasts, treacherous NPCs and nefarious conspiracies. (Just the usual!) WHAT: I am running this to give people a brief intro into DnD 5(.5)e and to explain basic levelling and class concepts. It will give you an idea of how the game can flow and I would hope that you would leave the table feeling emboldened to either run your own campaigns or jump into more games with the basics locked in. I try to keep game moments moving but if you do have any questions please do ask in chat!! (No player left behind) WHAT TO BRING//EXPECT: Silly voices and whacky characters welcome! If you're a little on the shy side, then drop me a message beforehand and we can work on what play style may suit you better =] (We can't all be Matt Mercer or Brennan Lee Mulligan!!) You will need a Level one character and class ready to go on D&D Beyond and a rough idea of what class tree you wish to head down at level 3. It takes a bit of reading but don't get bogged down in details, pick something that sounds cool and figure it out. (Worked for me thus far!) WHY: Trodarb, a quiet town nestled amongst family run farmlands has been suffering Goblin raids for months. They have tried to manage by themselves but after their barracks was overrun they were forced to seek professional help. That's where you come in. As a fledgling adventurer you have registered yourself with some local "Heroes for Hire" agencies in the hopes of getting some work to get your name out there. (and maybe get a badass nickname in the process) This is your first listing, Good Luck Adventurer!

About me

Hello there!! I'm Charlie, Level 30 Human with many a multi-class! I have guided a myriad of wayward warriors and misguided magical missiles onto the right (and oftentimes righteous) path in search of Gold and Glory. I do my best to balance the tones of the games I run. I want players to cry, suffer and struggle through combats but also chuckle with NPCs and each other. Breaking the tensions with a PP pun will never get old. (No matter what THEY may tell you) I have built a couple of fully fledged worlds that I am now fleshing out into maps, lore pdfs and several small novels. These are interspersed with tales of my iRL games and I am slowly growing my library of online content to allow me to entice players of all ranks! And that is where you come in! I look forward to weaving your own character into the fabric of my world. I encourage extensive backstories but come with an open mind! I'm not gonna let you be a King's secret bastard son who has loads of land and gold and cool fancy, shmancy swords off the bat, but we can figure out a way to get you there for sure ;D

What Charlie "yallopenos" Yallop brings to the table

Once you are in the campaign on D&D Beyond I should be able to content share other source books I have if you did wish to explore other classes in future sessions. I am still learning the ins and outs of how to get ambient music to play in the background of games to set tone so bare with me if transitions aren't super smooth! I stick to most rules but do have a list of slight alterations that make the game more fun (imo)

Homebrew rules

Firstly, I am a Crit slave. You will fail hard and you will succeed hard. -Nat 20 in combat will give you max rollable damage + rolled damage. -Potions: Full action you get max potential. Bonus action you roll. -Death saves will be done in private by the DM. -Ranged attack misses it's target? Roll with Disadvantage to hit those in it's path. -Cleaving enemies: If your damage brings an enemy to zero that damage can be passed onto a neighbouring nasty. -Death saves will become more challenging the more often you are downed.
