About the adventure

Welcome to Duskvol 968. While the technology has advanced bringing a new quality of life to many, you know that the same machinations and schemes still work under the shiny chrome surface. A rocket is being built to send men to space. Criminals are being pacified through strange technology and put to work across the city. Surveillance cameras pop up on every street corner despite claims of crime being at an all time low. These are just some of the ticking time bombs that Duskvol faces. How will you shape the future of the city? Blades '68 takes the classic sandboxy heist gameplay of Blades in the Dark and brings it 100 years forward to a retrofuturistic setting of the 1960s. Play spies performing daring acts of espionage, radical revolutionaries bringing down a facist regime, or daredevils racing around the city in vehicles of their own making. This is a player-driven sandbox campaign where you get to decide what jobs you go on, and you can actively shape the world around you through your actions.

About me

Greetings Adventurers, Investigators, Cyberpunks and more! I am a gay asian man and an gamemaster with almost 10 years of experience in way too many systems to count, and a performing improvisor and actor as well. I firmly believe that we are here to tell a story together, and incorporating player ideas into my own worlds and stories is a crucial part of my job as a gm. One of my favorite things about the hobby is meeting new people, and teaching new players. Incorporating your character's backstories and goals is just as important as any "main plot" in my opinion so bring em on! Let's tell stories together!

Character creation

Creating your character

We will decide on a crew book and create characters together during session 0. You are free to bring ideas to the session, but please wait until then.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

I will provide a discord link to join once we have enough players. This will contain the book as well as the blades in the dark srd link.

What Brandon Schneider brings to the table

I am a highly improvisational gm with years of experience in improvisational theater. I want to make this as player driven as possible, so I am looking for players who can drive the plot through their actions. If you want to steal the bomb making toolkit from another gang, you can choose to do that. I believe in collaborative story telling where the players build the world with me. I will ask you questions about what your character has seen or heard, and it will be true as long as it is reasonable. Session 0 which will include a short opening scenario will be free.

Safety

How Brandon Schneider creates a safe table

We will have a discussion regarding safety during session 0. Past that, players are always welcome to discuss issues with me as they arise. We will also use the X card as needed, as well as a pause, fastforward, fade to black system. I take your safety seriously, and everything is open to discussion.
