About the adventure

My games are mostly driven by the engagement of our current table, so I'm relatively easy-going in terms of themes and rules as written. Do note, the setting of Operation Solstice Rain is amidst a war, so a certain degree of grit will be present. I will also be hosting a session zero just to grasp the general vibe of the playgroup, perhaps explain some rules or things of note, create/develop your pilots. (I would want players to refrain from using AI however, since I am an artist myself. Would much rather you make an attempt to even draw a stick figure.) (Paying for Session Zero is optional, if you do, I will be drawing your mech token for this campaign. If you otherwise have one already, please tell me beforehand so I can set it to free for you.)

About me

My favorite games to GM are CAIN and LANCER, In a sense they are polar opposites in terms of Game systems but in my eyes they both stand as phenomenal emotion driven story-telling engines. I'm a relatively newer DM compared to the others on this site, but I bring a fresh pair of eyeballs on the hobby and am more than happy to have beginners come and join the table, judgement free. I stand hold only 1 rule, "Get more engaged in your party member's stories than even your own." That to me has always been the key to having a fun time as a group and fulfilling your wildest supernatural or mechanical fantasies. I'm also an artist on the side, so feel free to ask me for commissions and such, my games typically already come with me drawing a portrait for your pc or what not when you start making your character. Also been looking into mythic bastionland lately, might run that sooner or later...... keep ya eyes peeled.

Character creation

Creating your character

Character Creation will happen on session zero, Few things we will need: -General Idea of who you are playing. -The mech you envision yourself piloting. Since this is a more combat focused campaign I will be doing the token art for your mech.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Please prepare a mic, and optionally a webcam too if you'd like. I will be using Foundry VTT which I will be showing you guys how to use it during session zero and the general flow of the game Otherwise, prepare your comp/con sheet if you want to, you can work on your pilot and build after the session zero. Comp/con will keep you quite busy.

What Grit brings to the table

I primarily GM so that players get to have their cool moment and have it be earned. That's why I like Lancer's system so much, it rewards smart and tactical decision making whilst having the fun stuff to accommodate those actions. That said, since this campaign is targeted for Beginners I won't be expecting too much in terms optimizing activations and such, just be aware that Lancer isn't a very stat checky game like DND where you are most likely just hitting units of HP or your HP ticks down, positioning and objectives will matter a lot.

Homebrew rules

I only have 2 simple homebrew rules, -Voluntary falls don't do any damage. (You can hop of a ledge no problem) -Death is permanent, cloning is very flawed and illegal.

Safety

How Grit creates a safe table

Before the first session, I have everyone write a few things they are really uncomfortable with during Roleplay and we share them as a sort of disclaimer. E.g. For me: No Narrating overly sexual content.
