About the adventure
In Tales from the Loop takes place in an alternate 1980s. Robots and massive hovering cargo ships are as common as airplanes. Most likely, one of your parents works for the Loop facility. They do secret experiments there that no one is allowed to talk about. You know nothing about what goes on there. Occasionally, people go missing and strange things can be spotted around the Loop. But that's not your concern. At least, it shouldn't be. You have school, homework, and friends to worry about. But every now and then, some of those experiments get loose... You will play a "Kid" in this campaign. At the start of the campaign, you will be between the ages of 10 ~14. It will span about 2 in-game years. In Tales from the Loop, you get to experience what life was like growing up in the 1980s. You will interact with adults, siblings, classmates, friends, and, of course, discover strange or even terrifying mysteries of the Loop. In Tales from the Loop, you can't rely on the adults to help you. If you witness a strange alien creature outside your window at night, the adults won't believe you. They'll say it was just your imagination or a bad dream. If you want any help with the mysterious or the strange, you will need to rely on your fellow Kids -> your friends. ------------------- Things to know about Tale from the Loop: "The land of the Loop is dangerous, but Kids will not die. The Kids can be hurt, locked up, mocked, displaced, robbed, or broken-hearted, but they cannot die in this game." Though scary things may happen, this is NOT a horror game. --------------------- I will run a mix of scenarios from the core rulebook and the supplement "Our Friends the Machines," with some homebrew mixed in for good measure! ************************** I aim to have each session be about 3 hours (give or take). We'll try not to end in the middle of a scene if possible. However, if we do reach the 3.5h mark we will stop regardless of where we are in the scene and pickup from there the next time. **************************

About me
Hi! Like many of you, I enjoy playing TTRPGs in my free time. Being a fan of the Cthulhu Mythos, my first experience with RPGs was as a player in Call of Cthulhu. I have since expanded into other genres of TTRPGs as well. Occasionally, I do enjoy just bashing enemies and being super powerful, but most of the time I prefer when characters are more human. I enjoy the story, atmosphere, and the dread of knowing something may be around the corner that can't be dealt with using brute force alone.

Creating your character
We will all create characters together during our first session. I will walk everyone through the process. I will help you with ideas and suggestions if you are unsure. I will also provide all the info in the VTT. **** I will also have some pre-generated characters for players to choose from it you don't want to make a character or if you are joining after the first session. **** If you have an idea of what type of character you want to play, that's fine. But please don't have every detail and stat figured out ahead of time as this would not be fair to another player who may have a similar idea in mind and waited to build the character with everyone during session 0. To make a balanced party for the game, you may need to be flexible with your character build. Thanks.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You will need: 1. A Discord Account (I will invite you to my server) and a Mic. Discord will be used for all the Audio, and video (if you're using a webcam). 2. An Alchemy account. I will be running this game on Alchemy, using the official Tales from the Loop modules. Alchemy accounts are FREE to make if you don't have one. (https://alchemyrpg.com/)
