About me

Hi, I’m Matthew! I’ve been running D&D since 2018 and specialize in creating welcoming, story-driven games where players feel comfortable jumping in and contributing right away. As a teacher, I’ve introduced dozens of players to D&D and focus on making the game easy to learn while still engaging for experienced players. My tables are beginner-friendly, supportive, and designed to help everyone feel confident roleplaying and making meaningful choices. I run a mix of published campaigns and custom adventures, with a balance of roleplay, combat, and player-driven storytelling. I aim to build consistent groups where players can relax, have fun, and create memorable moments together each week. If you’re looking for a reliable game with a friendly group and a DM who will help you get the most out of your character, you’ll fit right in.

Character creation

Creating your character

- 2024 D&D Player's Handbook - Make a 1st-level player character (PC) by either Standard Array (15, 14, 13, 12, 10, 8) or 27 Point Cost. - Level that character to 10th level. -Starting gold of 2500 -After accounting for your starting equipment, your remaining wealth may be kept as gold or used to purchase non-magical equipment from the 2024 Player's Handbook (including potions of healing, PHB p223, 228) - Feats and multiclassing are allowed. - Your character's back story should fit handwritten on one side of a 3”x5” index card. Let’s explore their backstory together in the adventure. - I am pretty lenient in character creation, but if you have any combo that would make the game more difficult for other players, I have the right to veto.

What Matthew brings to the table

I run very player centric games, and try to work the world and pacing around what the players are most interested in. I will keep the game going at a pace that allows us to enjoy the moments that we all vibe with, and push past anything that is stopping us from having fun.

Safety

How Matthew creates a safe table

We will use the X card and breaks throughout the session. I will also go over the content ratings and inform players of anything possibly triggering before we start the session. It is also never too late to pause the game and talk about thinks that have, are currently, or might happen so we can adjust course so everyone is comfortable.
