About me
Hello! My name is Blaine, and I've been an avid enjoyer of tabletop gaming, specifically Dungeons & Dragons 5e, for about six years. I started as a GM for a campaign with my best friends where we all learned to play together, and I have continued to share my love for D&D with other players ever since. I love teaching new players and showing them how exciting a collaborative roleplaying game can be. Regardless of their experience, I make sure my players feel included, and I strive to provide an entertaining experience that they will always remember. I run a Discord server for my players called "JustBlaine's Venture Village". The Venture Village acts as a welcoming hub for adventurers that are seeking a quest for glory, riches, or whatever shenanigans I plan to throw at them. Creating your character
The character creation process will start during our free Session 0 over on the Venture Village Discord Server. We will use DnDBeyond for character sheets, and stats can be decided by using Standard Array, Point Buy, or by Rolling for Stats. Players who want to roll for their character’s stats will do so in a specific channel on the Venture Village Discord Server. We will create 1st Level characters using character options from the 2024 Player’s Handbook, but I am willing to discuss character options from other sources. Players are welcome to come to session 0 with a character already in mind or already created, and they can continue creating their character after our Session 0 until will play the game the following week.

All of these will be thoroughly discussed during our Session 0, so don’t worry if you aren’t familiar with them yet!
What Blaine || DM of The Venture Village brings to the table
I always provide a safe environment for fun and creativity to flourish. I provide a Discord server that is well organized and easy to navigate. During my games, you can expect character voices, ambient music, interesting maps for the VTT, and proficient knowledge of the rules as written. I usually play with my webcam on, but I do not require my players to do the same unless they want to.

How Blaine || DM of The Venture Village creates a safe table
Safety is of the utmost importance to me as a DM. I use a variety of safety tools for my games, and I discuss them thoroughly during our free Session 0. I will provide a link to a Lines and Veils document. I always implement a short break halfway through the game and also allow my players to briefly step away from the game at any point with no explanation needed. Communication is very important, so my inbox is always open for my players to reach out regarding anything from character discussions to safety concerns.
