About the adventure

Welcome to Elysium City a massive man made island in the middle of the pacific ocean, created by an equally massive and well known corporation. However this city holds a dark secret one that could cause the end of the world and the only thing that stands to oppose this threat is a group of college students!? Umbral Symphony is Fabula Ultima campaign that is inspired by the persona series, various JRPG'S and many different anime. In this game you'll take the role of a college student attending the prestigious Styx University. During your school life you can study, attend class, build relationships and face the unknown threats of the otherworld known as shadows. Join the G.U.A.R.D club and awaken your true self, call upon your persona and protect those who can't protect themselves. Additions for this game: Session 0 & 1 are free Once you have fully joined the game we can look at getting a commission of your characters art

About me

Hey Everyone I'm Welkin, I've been playing tabletop games and GM'ing for the past ten years. I've always had a passion for creating stories and worlds and sharing those with others, though instead of using that passion to write a book I decided it'd be more fun to write homebrew campaigns instead. Being able to create these campaigns and have the players influence them is an honor, be it locations, NPC's, storylines, etc, I'll do my best to accommodate and add whatever just make it reasonable enough for my own sanity. When it comes to running tabletop games I know how to play and run several systems such as DnD 5e, Lancer, Fabula Ultima, Genesys/star wars FFG, Vampire The Masquerade, and Sword World 2.5. Out of all the systems Fabula Ultima is my favorite, I'm a bit of a mega nerd and have a strong love for JRPG's and anime, be aware you may see many inspirations from both sources. For me my games are meant to be used as a form of escapism, so that being said please be kind to to your fellow players and avoid any topics that would break said escapism. In game rivalries or fights can be fun and interesting but I never want to see that animosity between characters follow the players outside of the game. I want my games to be a safe haven to anyone and ensure inclusivity so please keep this in mind.

Character creation

Creating your character

Character creation will be done entirely in our session 0, If needed we can schedule out another day as well. For this game we'll be using all fabula books and be following the standard Fabula ultima rules of character creation, the starting level will be 5. During Character creation the players will decided on the their Arcana, Persona and what ties they have to the world which could be major connections or minor.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

The only things needed from the players will be a decent mic, decent internet, a discord account and the ability to access the website we'll be playing on (Foundry VTT). Prior and during session 0 we'll discuss the lines and veils of the campaign and go through any needed safety tools.

What Welkin brings to the table

What I bring to these games are first the virtual tabletop program Foundry, the various source books, tokens, music and of course voices (I'm no professional by any means but I do enjoy doing voice work as a hobby). I also will bring the various maps for visuals and I will be looking to commission your characters art.

Homebrew rules

The primary Homebrew for this campaign will be the Rule of cool. If you want to try something that normally wouldn't be allowed by the rules or do something your character normally couldn't I'll typically allow it if you give a good enough reason.

Safety

How Welkin creates a safe table

Safety is something that I take seriously in my games, so because of this I've added several safety tools and content warnings to this game. I believe everyone deserves an opportunity to have fun and if a player is deliberately attempting to ruin that fun others they will be removed from the game. I am strictly opposed to players deliberately being racist, sexist, transphobic, homophobic, fatphobic, etc. now if a player wants to explore one of these topics for their character we can discuss that with the party and see if they would be comfortable with these topics in game. These topics could appear in game with NPC backstories if allowed but will not be directly mentioned or described unless the players want to explore it. Prior to entering the discord I'll send you an intake form to fill out to help me better know who the players are and what some lines and veils they may have. prior to our session zero I'll be sending the players an RPG consent form to help gather things that will be allowed or won't be allowed in game. Lastly, I'll always make an effort to hangout after a game to see how everyone's doings, check in on players after a rough session, or just to hang out with everyone.
