About the adventure
DESPERATE TIMES: A rare crimson version of the Lady's Veil flower in Fanewick serves as the city of Haven's last hope to stop a divine, petrifying illness. But only 1 of 1000 flowers bloom red... DESPERATE MEASURES: To encourage growth, Haven's armies plucked the reaping eye of the Shepherd of Seasons, bringing about unchecked and flourishing growth. A WAR BLOOMS: An insurgent known only as Fanewraith seeks to restore the Witherwild to its old ways, even if those within Haven would remain bound in stone. CAUGHT BETWEEN SIDES: As prisoners of Haven and citizens who have witnessed the horrors of the Fanewraith, you must decide who you can trust... or if you can trust anyone. DAGGERHEART: Published in 2025 by Darrington Press, you play adventurers exploring a fantastical world of magic and heroism. Roll 2d12, with one representing Hope and the other Fear, to determine the outcome of actions. RULE OF COOL: Though the book's rules always have a place at my table, I will always decide in favor of what fits the narrative best! BEGINNER FRIENDLY: I've introduced dozens of players to a variety of systems and love to bring new people into my favorite hobby! BACKSTORY DRIVEN: The overarching conflict between Haven and Fanewick will be the setting, but your characters' backgrounds and decisions will set the plot!

About me
Hello! My name is Jared (known online as Jerd) and I've been running and playing tabletop games since 2016. When a group of friends expressed interest in learning Dungeons & Dragons, I volunteered to DM a homebrew 5e game, which set me on a long and incredible path into gaming. During the pandemic, I took my hobby online and played almost daily. Though most of my TTRPG experience is in the fantasy genre (D&D 5e/5.5e, Pathfinder 2e, Daggerheart, etc.), I have also run World of Darkness systems including a Berlin-based Vampire: The Masquerade play-by-post (running now for 2+ years!), and newer systems like Outgunned and Shadowdark. I particularly enjoy horror games such as Mothership, Alien, and Candela Obscura.

Creating your character
- DEMIPLANE OR PDFS: I will share content to either store online in Demiplane, or on a downloaded PDF! - BEGINNER FRIENDLY: I've helped dozens of first-time TTRPG players to create characters that they're proud of. - FREE SESSION 0: We will meet as a table to go over character relationships, backstory, and expectations! - NEW ADVENTURERS: Your characters will start at level 1 but quickly progress into Tier 2 of play.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Please have access to a laptop with Wi-Fi as well as a Discord account. I will invite you to the server after a short discussion via voice call about the game! We will be using Owlbear Rodeo for a VTT, which is entirely browser-based.
What Jared brings to the table
NO MATERIALS NEEDED: I will provide the core rulebook and blank character sheets for use! I'll also host the virtual tabletop on Owlbear Rodeo. FICTION FIRST: My tables are focused on the narrative, where rule of cool always plays a key role in deciding what happens. BACKSTORY DRIVEN: I enjoy weaving in every character's background, motivations, and goals into the overarching plot! AN OPEN WORLD: My players are encouraged to turn over every stone and explore and every avenue that interests them. SETTING THE SCENE: I provide visual aides for locations, characters, maps, and more! Music references are provided but 100% optional.
Homebrew rules
N/A, but I am open to discussion and pivoting on rules to suit the table as a whole!
