About the adventure
Raiders of the Serpent Sea is a brutal Norse-inspired saga set in Grimnir, a young and savage world of black seas, forgotten gods, and blood-soaked feuds, where kingdoms are forever but one hard winter away from ruin. You will begin as mortal warriors: wanderers, outcasts, and heirs all struggling to survive—though, through courage, cunning, and sacrifice, rise into legend. Glory is earned. Oaths have weight. Reputation follows you across the sea. So when Ragnarök begins to stir, the deeds you have carved into the world’s bones may determine whether anything survives.. This campaign is for players who want hard-won triumph rather than effortless heroics! Expect dangerous expeditions, desperate battles, and longships cutting through hostile waters as rival clans and mythical monsters move to carve out their own plunders. The choices you make along the way hold consequences whose may not reveal themselves for many sessions. The tone is bleak and often unforgiving, but never hopeless: this is a story about standing tall when the world is cruel, keeping your word when breaking it would be easier, and earning the right to boast of what you survived! Your character’s personal history will matter, and their ambitions, failures, relationships, enemies, and loyalties will be woven into the larger saga! I run a cinematic, character-driven, tactical style of D&D where roleplay and combat both carry weight. Battles are designed to feel dynamic and interesting rather than simple exchanges of attacks, while exploration rewards preparation, curiosity, and smart decisions! I use the Fantasy Grounds Unity engine with detailed maps, lighting, sensible automation, custom mechanics, visuals, and encounters built to make the world feel alive. I especially enjoy giving each character moments to stand at the center of the story, driving forward personal narratives woven deeply into the campaign fabric. Player choices shape future events: turning allies, rivals, promises, victories, and mistakes into threads that follow the party throughout the campaign. If you want to build a character whose name might one day be sung at the fireside long after their bones have gone cold, this is your saga!

About me
Are you ready to experience an unforgettable adventure with amazing characters and stories? Look no further! I'm a former athlete and closet-nerd who just-so loves to play Dungeons & Dragons, and now I'm here to share the joy with you! With over 6 years of experience under my belt, I'm sure to make your experience with D&D a special and memorable one. I stay up to date on the current rules and mechanics of the game so that we can all enjoy a similar experience. I take strides to organize every campaign and session so that everything runs smoothly, there's little worse than a DM that isn't prepared! But when things do come up, I work with these preparations to think outside the box and come up with creative solutions to different issues. I greatly enjoy diving into character backstories and finding what I can pull out and use within the campaign narrative, always listening to my players' ideas and finding out ways to incorporate them into the game. We all want to enjoy a captivating story with engaging characters and exciting plot points after all! I have hosted a multitude of games online for my friends and for new people who are eager to join in on the fun. I've crafted full adventures, campaigns, and even one-shots that are sure to keep you enthralled for hours. I even took a shot at developing an MMO Dungeon experience variation of 5e that was an absolute blast! But what truly makes me stand out is my passion for this game and my commitment to making players feel powerful and having a blast. It is only after standing triumphant over the most formidable foes that we may feel the very best this game has to offer. You can check out my YouTube and Twitch streams, as well as join my Discord server, to see just how I run things. So what are you waiting for? Send me a message and let's get started on your own unforgettable adventure!

Creating your character
Characters will be decided during Session 0, choosing from available backgrounds specific to the setting and campaign. PCs must make sense in the context of Grimnir—the world—and Norse-inspired mythology. Levels begin at 1, beginning with character concepts and designing from there using the campaign as guidance.
PCs are not decided until Session 0 when campaign-specific information is shared. Remain open until then.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players will need a computer that is able to run Fantasy Grounds Unity, I have an Ultimate license so you can join free. You also need a mic and Discord account. Webcams are not required but rather preferred for better communication through nonverbal forms like body language and real-time reactions. Players are expected to read through the provided Tavern League Player’s Handbook for all house rules and guides for play. Knowledge of the rules is suggested but not required. We can certainly go over rules as they come up and during the first session.
What Nomad brings to the table
I do voices for all NPCs and utilize Syrinscape and YouTube for music/ambiance which players have the ability to listen to through Discord voice. Combat is tactical and challenging, expect that death is always possible! My interpretation on rules is RAI: Rules as Intended, as close to RAW but with obvious understanding of the design intent behind a thing. I have all sourcebooks available for use, as well as all of the utility that FGU offers.

How Nomad creates a safe table
This game includes many themes and situations reflective of those which may occur in real life, but within a fantasy setting. This campaign in particular includes many horror elements, and light *implied* use of many of the aforementioned content warning. It is very important to note, however, that these situations are not real and are not substitutes for real life. For that reason I implement a number of safety tools to help differentiate between the game and personal experiences. We talk as a group during Session 0 to come up with a criteria for what is and what will not be accepted or present within our game. We will determine what tools will be utilized as well as what is to be expected from the campaign TOGETHER as a cohesive adventuring party. I personally enjoy cultivating a grittier, player-driven experience, where we are all encouraged to go really in-depth through character development and mold the world according to your choices rather than being dragged through the story. Actions have consequences both good and bad! This may bring up difficult situations as they arise, but in the end we triumph and rise to the occasion!
