About the adventure
The game is a classic tabletop adventure, with a main hub area, the town of Belhaim, serving as the primary location for the PC's to rest and resupply. Through their adventures, the players will get to know locals in Belhaim, be hired to investigate a collapsed tower on the city's outskirts, hunt for nearby kobolds threatening the town, and eventually get involved in an intricate plot with the game's main villain, a cunning dragon. The adventure is seen as a deluxe super-module, going from levels 1 to 8 using the Pathfinder 1E ruleset. It is good for beginners to learn the ropes of the system, being challenging and rewarding in a way that requires little investment into a long-form adventure. Much of your time will be spent going through at least three to four major dungeons, some wilderness fights, and role-playing opportunities with the Belhaim locals and other characters. So expect a healthy mix of combat, adventure, and role-playing as you try to fight against the Dragon's Demand and become well-known Dragonslayers in the process.

Meet the Game Master
About me
Been a gamemaster since the late 2000's, playing a ton of indie games and mainstream games beforehand since 2nd Edition D&D. Most of my experience as a GM is from games like Dragon Age, Ironclaw, Myriad Song, Pathfinder 1E, D&D 3.5 and 4th Edition, and Forbidden Lands primarily. Looking to just have some fun for a few months with a new campaign and hoping to meet some new people.

Creating your character
The First Session will work as a Session 0 to set up characters (as needed based on the players) and to set up the game's basic opening hook, and if time permits, a mini-challenge to get players used to the game if they have never played before, and provide a chance for role-play and combat in equal measure. The starting level is Level 1, and I ask that players stick to official Pathfinder Books and not use 3rd-party classes, Races, or Spells. Characters will be created on Roll20; there is a limited character-mancer for the basic classes, but I can also go over the creation of characters for those not familiar with Roll20. All players will get a folder to keep notes, items, companions, and character sheets in for themselves. I ask that sheets just be updated properly when leveling up.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
We will be using a combination of Discord and Roll20 for the game. Players will need a Roll20 account I can invite them to and a Discord account I can invite them to. You would also need a microphone for communication. The Discord server will be a basic setup: general and game chats, including an RP chat for those interested in inter-party roleplaying, a Loot Bag for organizing any loot, and an XP Chat for tracking current progress, mostly done by me.
What Robert brings to the table
There will be ambient music through Roll20 for mood, and I will attempt a lot of bad accents that sound alike for character voices. Combat will follow rules as written for the base mechanics, but will allow some flexibility so long as they are within the boundaries or spirit of the rules. Combat is a major part of the campaign, especially the final dungeon, so expect several small or a few larger encounters throughout. We will also have downtime and roleplaying, both in Belhaim and in dungeons, so when building characters, consider that as part of the game.
Homebrew rules
The only real homebrew rule is the Massive Damage House Rule: if you score 3 critical hits in a row, it's an instant kill of your opponent. This was around in DnD 3.5, but I enjoy using it in Pathfinder since it's rare and a solid storytelling beat.

How Robert creates a safe table
Session Zero is also about expectations, so for example, I'd ask players what they hope to get out of the campaign. As well, I'd do debriefings after each session to see how everyone is doing, if they are enjoying themselves, etc. All of this is to build rapport and trust, and to also open the floor for questions to go over anything missed or anything that may be an issue.
