About the adventure
There is a world hidden from humanity that survives in the space between superstition and disbelief. This shadowed world of secrets exists alongside the mortal world and has for tens of thousands of years. The denizens of this dark world prey upon humanity while desperately clinging to what was once mortal inside themselves. It is a World of Darkness in which the monsters that go bump in the night are all too real, and you can become one of these supernatural creatures. You can become a Kindred, or, as they are more commonly known in folklore … vampires. One Last Goodbye takes place in and around the small village of Knock Glad, in the northernmost part of Irish Britannia. It is late autumn, roughly 700 CE. The rains have grown cold, snow has started to dust the highlands, and the days are growing shorter with each dusk. It is the Dark Ages, a time when humans feared predators more than they do in modern times. Without fear of camera phones or security systems to surveil them, Kindred can move and hunt with greater ease, but humanity’s stronger superstitions leave little room for mistakes that break the Masquerade. One Kindred’s lack of control, succumbing to the Beast just once, can bring hunters, inquisitors, werewolves, and mages rooting around for monsters to slay. The characters are a coterie of Kindred who have known each other long enough to seek havens together when travelling and have protected one another on many occasions. Their current journey has brought them to Knock Glad after receiving terrible news. The last living descendant of one of the characters, a young woman in her late 20’s named Aislynn, has died. The people of Knock Glad are holding a four-day-long wake for Aislynn, and the coterie feels it is necessary to accompany their friend to the event. As one of the character’s Touchstones, having a chance to give a proper farewell can be the difference between moving on or falling into a psychological spiral that leads to the Beast... This one-shot uses the D&D 5.5e rules for Vampire the Masquerade (Dark Ages). Your characters will begin at 4th level and are able to choose from the clans given in this supplement: Brujah, Gangrel, Nosferatu, Toreador, and Ventrue. The species of the characters would all be human.

About me
Welcome! Thank you for considering me as the GM of your game! Some tidbits about me–I am a writer, 3D artist, veteran, and family man. Yes, I am actually a "Doctor", but an academic type so don't ask me for any medical advice! You could consider me a “forever” GM that began running TTRPG campaigns of all sorts some 35 years ago. I have been running sessions on Roll20 for 9 years. I have certainly enjoyed being on the other side of games being a player, but I guess I am addicted to being a GM! What is my GMing style? Every person at my table are respected and valued. I know the rules well and love to help new players. I enjoy helping you with character creation, backstory and other aspects of character concepts. I am as easy-going as they come, so nothing really gets me bent out of shape at any point–but I do ask for respect for all at our table. I enjoy working with the players on the story of their characters and weaving their story into the campaign. I am all about voice acting for the many NPC personalities you will encounter, playing music to set the mood of the scene, and living the “rule of cool” for the sake of story. Most of the games I run are gritty, which I will explain below Ask me about my CUSTOM GAMES!

What to expect
Preparing for the session
You will need a reliable internet connection. I highly recommend headphones with a headset. You will need Discord for voice. You will need a Roll20 account for the VTT. You may make your character on D&D Beyond or Roll20 (I have converted the character creation information to Roll20 character sheets).
What Dr. LandShark brings to the table
I use music in all my games befitting the situation. I utilize voice acting for the many colorful NPCs you will encounter. I am a Rule of Cool kind of GM, but the rules certainly help guide us. I am laidback and I want to ensure you have an enjoyable, memorable time!
Homebrew rules
If we play a campaign together, I have a few homebrew rules I love to use. However, since this is a one-shot, we will keep it rather vanilla.
