About the adventure
The notorious lich Vecna is weaving a ritual to eradicate goodness, destroy the gods, and subjugate every world in the multiverse. To stop him before he remakes reality itself, the heroes must join forces with three of the multiverse's most legendary archmages, journey to iconic locations across the planes, and reassemble the fabled Rod of Seven Parts. Vecna: Eve of Ruin is a high-stakes adventure in which Dungeon Masters and players have the power to determine the fate of the multiverse. The adventure features legendary D&D characters, iconic fantasy locations, terrifying new monsters, and unforgettable challenges.

About me
My name is Thomaz, i'm from Brazil and DMing is my full time job! The first time i played D&D was back when i had 12, it was 3.5e. I had no ideia what i was doing but i felt in love with this game. My favorite edition by far is 5e, its so easy to learn! I have a large selection of campaigns i can DM for any party, going from light-hearted to dark fantasy. If i dont know it yet i can quickly get a it ready if the party wants! I also have a degree in languages (Portuguese-English), back in the day my goal was to teach native English speakers to learn Portuguese. I don't plain to be a tutor anymore, but i think i can still have that goal with D&D, helping my players learning while they play! My main goal is show the amazing world of RPG and help them to learm it! I have a game every single day of the week, morning and evening!

Creating your character
I strongly encourage players to create their own characters, but if you don't have the time, I'll have a selection of pre-made character sheets ready to choose from. I have a D&D Beyond campaign with content sharing enabled, so you'll have access to everything you need to create your character. Once it's finished, we'll import it into Foundry VTT. We'll roll for ability scores. Don't worry if someone rolls better than everyone else. Anyone can choose to use another player's set of rolls, ensuring everyone has access to equally good stats. Since the adventure begins at level 10, your character starts with 500 gp plus 1d10 × 25 gp, one Rare magic item, two Uncommon magic items, two Common potions or spell scrolls, and two Uncommon potions or spell scrolls. I recommend tying your starting magic items to your character's background. The campaign begins in Neverwinter, and we'll roll the extra gold at the start of Session 1. We'll use Foundry VTT for maps, combat, dice rolls, character sheets, and everything else in-game. Voice chat and general communication will take place on Discord.
We are starting this week! So far, we have a Twilight Cleric, a Champion Fighter, and a Sorclock and a Reanimator Artificer. Bring your character and tell me which adventure they completed to reach level 10. Session Zero is where I’ll explain everything and get everyone set up, but it shouldn’t take more than an hour of our first session. After that, we’ll jump straight into the adventure, so expect to start playing right away this week! Are they one of the heroes who ended the Death Curse in Tomb of Annihilation? Did they bring down the Cult of the Dragon in Tyranny of Dragons? Or perhaps they escaped the mists of Barovia in Curse of Strahd? Your character already has a history. Tell us what they’ve accomplished before the events of Vecna: Eve of Ruin begin!
What to expect
Preparing for the session
All players will need to connect to both Discord and Foundry VTT. Invitation links for both will be provided before the game. I also recommend creating your character on D&D Beyond before the session. A decent microphone is required. A webcam is completely optional and only encouraged if you feel comfortable using one. You don't need to be an expert on the D&D rules, but I do ask that you take some time to learn how your own character and class work before the session.
What Thomaz Eblen brings to the table
Being a Dungeon Master is my full-time job, and I take it seriously. I have over 10 years of experience running D&D campaigns for players of all experience levels. I use Foundry VTT to enhance every session with animated spells, immersive battlemaps, dynamic lighting, ambient sound, and other features that bring the world to life. Thanks to content sharing with players in my D&D Beyond campaigns, you'll have access to almost every official D&D book for character creation and gameplay.
Homebrew rules
I tend to add homebrews as the game goes for the better quality of life of players. Drinking a healing potion is a bonus action. If you use your action instead, you regain the maximum possible healing from the potion. If a player gives a good recap of the previous session, they start that session with a Bardic Inspiration die as a reward. You're also free to choose whether you want to use the 2014 or 2024 version of any spell. Mix and match whichever versions best fit your character.

How Thomaz Eblen creates a safe table
I don't include any sexual content in my games. That's a hard line for me. If you need to step away at any time, feel free to do so. Just type "BRB" in the chat so everyone knows you'll be back. Whether it's for a quick break, the bathroom, or to grab a drink, there's no need to ask for permission. You're always welcome to message me directly, during or outside of game time, with any questions. I'll reply as soon as I can. I'm also very flexible with rulings when it leads to a cool, creative, or cinematic moment. If it's fun and doesn't overshadow the rest of the table, I'm usually happy to make it work. I don't run a traditional Session Zero. Since everyone creates their character beforehand, we spend about 30 minutes introducing ourselves, reviewing expectations, and making sure everyone is comfortable before jumping straight into the adventure. I rarely schedule breaks during sessions. Since my games are usually around three hours long, I'm used to running them without stopping. That said, players are always free to step away whenever they need to. Above all else, I use the Deck of Player Safety. Before the campaign begins, every player can anonymously identify topics they don't want included in the game. Everyone at the table, including me, is expected to respect those boundaries so we can create a fun, welcoming, and comfortable experience for everyone.
