About the adventure
Somewhere in the frozen wasteland of Isilgard is the impregnable Gleymt Prison. A maximum security prison for dangerous mages. Olga has hired you to break into it and free her twin sister Helga. Isilgard is currently being torn apart by political tension that has them at the edge of civil war. King Ulf can’t discern friend from foe. The would-be usurpers would have long attempted a coup if not for the King’s supernatural allies and his Realm Blade. Beneath all of them are the underdwellers, the Cult of Hajara. The Hajaran's have grown tired of the harm the uplanders have caused to the environment as they drain the world of resources. The Hajaran’s have begun to raid the surface towns and alter the already harsh weather of Isilgard to be even harsher still. You must discover the location of Gleymt Prison while you maneuver through the fragile bureaucracy of Isilgard before all of its inhabitants are buried under ice and snow.

About me
I started playing Dungeons and Dragons in 2021 with a the group of friends I play MTG with. We were meant to rotate GM duty but if I wasn't doing it we often weren't doing it. I started with Dragon of Icespire Peak and then I ran Waterdeep: Dragon Heist. I then exclusively ran campaigns set in my own world. I enjoy the collaborative story telling experience of this game. I love coming up with challenges for my players and seeing how they tackle these challenges. I now want to take this beyond simply being a hobby for me.

Creating your character
We should be done building all the characters by the end session zero. If we don't manage to finish all of them by then that is fine we can always finish later. No pressure. I can also provide you with a pre-made character if you're new or in a hurry. The players start at level 3 with an additional 150 gp, one Potion of Healing, a set of cold weather clothing, two common and one uncommon magic item of their choice. You may spend your starting gold in session zero. The level cap of the campaign will be 16. Character's will level up using he Milestone system. You must use either "Point Buy" or "Standard Array" ability score generation methods. All official species printed by WotC are allowed. I have one Home brew race I made myself called "Reclaimer" which you can use. All official classes printed by WotC are allowed. All official sub-classes printed by WotC are allowed. All official spells printed by WotC are allowed. I have made a few home brew spells as well that are available for use. Only official items printed by WotC or ones that I have made will be allowed. If I didn't make the home brew it is unlikely I would allow it. If you want to work with me to make some new home brew for your character or for the campaign I am open to that.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You will need a computer with a reliable internet connection. You should have a Discord and dndbeyond account. You will also need a microphone of some sort in order to speak in Discord.
What Chris brings to the table
The session zero is free. I have a Master Tier subscription on dndbeyond. I own a lot of the most popular 5e books on there including the new 2024 (5.5e) books. These will all be shared with you upon joining the campaign. The combat will start relatively simple but will continue to pose a greater threat as the party advances through the campaign. I will stick to the rules for the most part but there is always room for some "Rule of Cool."
Homebrew rules
You can not avoid malnutrition using conjured food or drink. This is so that wilderness survival is not trivialized by certain spells or items.
