About the adventure

In the nuclear-ravaged wasteland of the Commonwealth, an armed standoff outside of a ruined vault leads a group of strangers to a discovery that paints a target on their backs and could forever change the region. If they can survive, will the strangers become a beacon of hope for the future amidst the bleakness of post-atomic America? Or will they take the spoils all for themselves? Welcome to the world of Fallout, the year is 2290 and the world as we know it has been wiped out by nuclear bombs. People have emerged once more onto the surface from their vaults or other hiding places and a network of ramshackle communities and settlements have sprung up around the Commonwealth. The area used will be the same as Fallout 4 (wastelands around Boston.) I am looking for a group of 4-6 to work as a team and make it through the many dangers this module provides, or to derail it completely and become raiders or mutfruit farmers. As long as they are working together. This adventure will teach the basics of gameplay as we go and continue on into a full length campaign.

About me

I Live out in the South African countryside on a farm with my wife and 3yr old daughter. I started running D&D full time 5 days a week about 6 years ago and haven't looked back. I enjoy reading fantasy and sci-fi, my favourite author would be Brandon Sanderson or Terry Pratchett. I am slowly working my way through running every 5e official adventure and really enjoying it, I only have a couple left at this point. Other likes: animals, nature, cooking, gaming.

Character creation

Creating your character

We will do a full character creation during the first session, I also have multiple already made character sheets you can simply take and use. We will start at level 1.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Everything is done on Foundry VTT and Discord, you only need a microphone and to install Discord if you want to use the client version which I would recommend.

What Nathan_Dibbler brings to the table

I will bring the story, setting and handouts with loads of extra content and fleshed out characters. Music that suits the game (I am a big fan of the Fallout games) and lots more. About my DM style: My end goal is to facilitate an interesting and fulfilling adventure for the players in my game. I am always happy to change things up if the players are not enjoying certain aspects of the game or would like mechanics added. Typically I am pretty laid back, happy to accommodate changes and interesting RP as long as no one is left out. I like to have a healthy mix of all the gameplay aspects (RP/exploration/combat) but I am happy to cater for the party as needed. I tend towards more lighthearted comedy but have no problem with serious RP. My games will not feature any darker themes like torture, sexual assault etc... Certain things will be allowed "off screen".

Safety

How Nathan_Dibbler creates a safe table

We will have a comprehensive session 0 where we will discuss all issues that players may have. That being said be aware that the setting is a violent one as people fight to survive. I will have links to all the core rulebook handouts so you can refer to any of the rules of the fly.
