About the adventure
The Sunfall Isles are a warm, tropical archipelago of scattered islands, shifting reefs, dangerous trade routes, and fiercely independent communities. Port Helena stands at the center of regional commerce: a cosmopolitan city of merchants, sailors, temples, mercenaries, smugglers, and political interests where contracts may be sealed with ink, coin, or blood. Beyond its harbor lie pirate-controlled shoals, contested colonies, jungle strongholds, forgotten ruins, and islands that appear very differently depending on who drew the map. This is a player-driven maritime high-fantasy campaign focused on exploration, character development, faction politics, and consequential choices. You will decide which opportunities to pursue, which powers to support or oppose, and what kind of reputation your party earns. You are not required to play a pirate. Characters might become privateers, treasure hunters, diplomats, revolutionaries, merchants, mercenaries, scholars, smugglers, or adventurers whose goals lead them somewhere no one expected. Beneath the immediate struggles for territory, wealth, and influence lies a much older mystery. The sea is behaving strangely, ships are vanishing, and fragments of forgotten history are beginning to surface. As the campaign expands beyond Port Helena, your characters will uncover forces connected to the Isles’ violent past and decide whether that past should remain buried, be reclaimed, or be destroyed before it can rule again.

About me
I have been running tabletop RPGs for more than 17 years, beginning with Dungeons & Dragons 3.5 and later expanding into Pathfinder 1e. GMing is my favorite side of table because I get to build a world with my players. My campaigns focus on immersive storytelling, meaningful character development, and choices that leave a lasting mark on the world. I enjoy helping players turn ambitious character ideas into people who feel connected to the setting and the larger story. Expect memorable NPCs, distinct character voices, challenging encounters, exploration, and plenty of opportunities to take the campaign somewhere I did not expect. I prepare carefully, but I never assume the players will follow a predetermined path. New to the system or to tabletop roleplaying in general? You are welcome at my table. I provide patient guidance with character creation and teach the rules through play. Experienced players are equally welcome, especially those who enjoy creative characters, open worlds, and stories shaped by player decisions.

Creating your character
Players may build independently or receive guided assistance during Session Zero. All characters must be reviewed before Session 1 for rules legality, party compatibility, and integration with the campaign setting. Campaign-specific source restrictions, ability-score generation, starting wealth, house rules, and alignment guidelines will be included in the Prep Materials.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Before the first game, please complete the following steps: 1. Create a free Roll20 account. 👈 Roll20 will be used for maps, character sheets, dice rolls, and other visual elements. 2. Create a Discord account and install the Discord app. 👈 We will use Discord for voice communication, campaign announcements, and between-session discussion. The desktop app is recommended over the browser version. 3. Join the campaign’s Roll20 game and Discord server. 👈 Links will be provided in the Prep Materials after you book your seat. 4. Review the campaign information and character-creation rules. 👈 This will include the campaign premise, allowed sourcebooks, starting level, ability-score rules, house rules, and any character restrictions. 5. Complete the “character creation prompt” document and send it to me on Discord. 👈 Complete the Character Creation Prompt before Session Zero and send the finished document to me through Discord. Your answers can be brief; the goal is to give me enough information to understand your character, connect them to the campaign world, and prepare story elements that reflect their goals, relationships, and background. 6. Complete your character sheet in Roll20. 👈 Set up your character sheet in the campaign’s Roll20 game before Session 1. Please make sure your abilities, skills, equipment, spells, and other important features are entered correctly and easy to locate. If you would like assistance, you may wait until the second half of Session Zero to complete your sheet with me. I am happy to guide you through the process, answer questions, and help make sure your character is both rules-legal and ready for play 7. Complete the campaign’s Lines and Veils form. 👈 This allows you to communicate content boundaries privately before play. 8. Test your microphone, Discord, and Roll20 before the first session. 👈 Cameras are not required, but a functioning microphone, stable internet connection, and reasonably quiet environment are necessary. 9. Attend the free Session Zero. 👈 We will review the campaign, table expectations, safety tools, scheduling, and any relevant house rules. Players who need assistance may also receive guided character creation and a Roll20 or Pathfinder 1e tutorial. *Please contact me through StartPlaying if you have trouble with any link, account, character rule, or technical setup! *

How Kurtis creates a safe table
Player comfort and clear expectations are important at my table. Before play, we establish Lines and Veils. During sessions, any player may pause, redirect, or remove uncomfortable material without needing to explain why. We also use an Open Door policy, and players may privately update their boundaries at any time. *I select a broad range of content-warning tags to account for situations that may arise during play. For a more specific outline of what will and will not be included in your particular game, please refer to the Lines and Veils document provided after sign-up. *
