About the adventure

It's been fifteen years since Medea the Thrice-Cursed Sorceress plunged the city of Corinth into eternal darkness and vanished in a blaze of black fire. That day, the joyful cheers of Jason and Princess Glauce's wedding turned to screams, and the Miasma has cloaked the Acropolis ever since. Corinth is mostly dead now, and dangerous. What's left of its people crowds the outskirts of Mycenae, where Queen Regent Clytemnestra remains deaf to their pleas. Two months ago, a priest of Hera was cursed in a terrible accident, and the refugees' desperation is tipping toward something worse. With most heroes gone to Troy these five years, the temples of Mycenae have started calling on braver — or more expendable — souls to venture into Corinth and recover what sacred relics, statues, scrolls, and magic items still remain buried in its ruins. These Sacred Reclamations are usually announced publicly, in daylight, with fanfare. This one wasn't. This morning, each of you received a summons to meet at a crossroad outside Mycenae — as soon as the sun sets. ABOUT ECHOES OF FATE Set in a fabled Age of Rhapsody, Echoes of Fate is a campaign for players who want Greek mythology lived from the inside. If you are a fan of tasteful myth retellings, come join us! SOME NOTES ON THE SETTING: ⚡ The gods are alive and present, though their attention lies elsewhere. Drawing their eye might bring you greatness or despair — or you may instead walk the path of the mysterious cults, knowing full well you might be deceived in doing so. ✨ Magic here is no neutral gift. It draws from many sources and always comes at a price. Some paths are outlawed or heavily regulated and require allegiance to a specific deity — or defiance of them. Others draw from nature, secret rites or uncomfortable truths. ⚫ The dark force of Miasma creeps in wherever the sacred breaks, and is able to devour entire cities if not resolved. 🔥 Nothing you do disappears into the background. Without a prophecy shielding you, your choices ripple outward — a city saved or lost, an alliance made or broken, a god's favor won or squandered. The war at Troy may not notice you, but t 👥 All ancestries and classes are tied into the setting -- there are no limits! You will be provided material to read and prepare, or we can have a short session zero. 🌈 All stories are welcome here. Queer love, queer grief, queer defiance — Greek myth is full of gods and heroes who never fit neatly into one box, and neither do the players at this table. ❗Echoes of Fate doesn't shy away from depicting slavery, xenophobia, political violence and sexism. Players are always free to engage with these themes, push back on them, or leave them in the background. Let's discuss what you are uncomfortable with. 📚 Do I need a Major in Classical Literature to play? Of course not. You will need to brush up the very basics of Greek myth, though.

About me

I like my games how I like my tea: hot, honest, and better with company. And like my tea, I take my worldbuilding steeped in history. I've been playing and discovering worlds for fifteen years now, care to join me for your next adventure? I'm an Italian GM, bilingual in English and Italian, with EU & US-friendly playing times (benefits of being a night owl!) "The first maps were story maps" has stuck with me since my first books on cartography — the one that started it all was Homer's Odyssey — and it's become something of a mantra, both as a player and as a GM: a tabletop session is a story, after all, and the world it's set in shapes, and is shaped by, the people living in it. I started as a player on narrative-focused forum RPGs before joining my first Pathfinder 1e session and having the immense luck of living an adventure from level 1 to level 20, mythic tiers included. Since then I've run long campaigns mainly in Pathfinder, D&D 5e, and Daggerheart, with detours into everything from horror to pulp along the way. I've sat behind the screen for seven lucky years now, and nobody's complained yet.

Character creation

Creating your character

You will be provided with a short overview of how ancestries and communities work, and a brief introduction to the campaign setting. I prefer to handle character creation during a session zero, and it can be via voice or text. Come with concepts and questions, and let's create your character! We'll use standard arrays for Daggerheart and both the core manual and Hope and Fear expansion. I host character sheets on Demiplane usually, but if you already have an account let me know.

The current party

Any class is welcome. Characters native to Corinth or Mycenae would be perfect. If needed, I have pre-generated characters to use.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You will need a Discord account and we'll play on a Discord channel. You will need a Demiplane account (free is fine!) and a Roll20 account to roll. I will host the character sheets on my Demiplane account, but you will be given a pdf.

What sixter brings to the table

I will strive to do character voices and mannerism and I take care in describing the world around you so you can immerse yourself. I use music and ambience as well! Your story will matter, and I don't mind long backgrounds as long as they are on the narrative side. Tell me about who your character cares for and what are his goals. If you want to continue roleplaying or discovering things, I'm happy to keep the narration going through written sessions or stories. And if you want your character drawn, just say so!

Homebrew rules

I prefer one Avoid Death per character. Massive damage (triple the Severe Damage threshold) inflicts an additional HP.

Safety

How sixter creates a safe table

I prefer to be honest in advance: Echoes of Fate draws from real life in addition to myth. Slavery was present in Ancient Greece, as was mysogyny, war and violence. You will be able to challenge these in-game through your character, or ask me to avoid mentioning them and I will do my best to do so. I will provide a survey regarding triggers, veils and lines so that we are all comfortable playing. X/N/O cards are private messages on Discord or, if we're doing a scene together, you can just say X Card / N Card / O Card out loud.
