About the adventure
Welcome to Illuvar's Academy, the premier academy of magic for younger, human-born students. Each day, you will dive into your classwork to better understand your magic, and how you can use it to power the world around you. Of course, being magic, the school has a few tricks up its sleeve, and a few skeletons in its closet, but that should be of little worry to you, just beware of Ms. Frizzle, the wand-mistress/Magical Home-Ec teacher, she'll make sure to put you in your place. This game is for new players of Kids on Bikes/Brooms and veterans alike! I play a player-centered, role-play heavy, combat lite game, where players are encouraged to and rewarded for exploring the world, interacting with everyone, and doing what they think is most like their character, even if it causes chaos. (I love myself some chaos, makes for all the more fun!)

About me
Hey! I’m just a queer role player in their mid-twenties, trying to find more people like me to play together! I’ve been playing DnD for about three years, but I still consider myself fairly new to it. But get me a Kids on Bikes campaign, and I’m all in! I’ve GMed four KOB campaigns with my friends, but I want to get out into the world and meet new friends, and players to live in our fantasy worlds with! My favourite way to lead a game is to give my players the world, and let them do with it and in it what the party feels like is best, and I build the story, the plot and the adventure around them! If we don’t agree about something, we’ll leave it to the dice. My game style leans heavily on Roleplay, and you can expect me to default to a 70/30 split, but I am open to any style that my party wants to play! I can’t wait to meet you! ☺️

Creating your character
Character creation is done using the standard Kids on Brooms character sheet, and the general rules of the Kids on Brooms Core Rulebook. Players are encouraged to create their character from scratch rather than from tropes, so they feel their character is built for how they want to play them. Before the campaign begins, we will have a session 0 where we meet each other, our characters, and the few home-brew mechanics I have included in the game. Players should build characters that are between 14-16 years old. There are four styles of magic players can choose from, which will be explained in more detail in the discord server.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players will need a discord, with a microphone, as well as an Owlbear Rodeo account. Character creation should be started at least in part before session 0. If you wish, you are more than welcome to read through the Kids on Brooms Core Rulebook before hand to get a better idea for how the game is played.
What Brasha brings to the table
I am always happy to suit my style of play to the table, but my default style of play is open world, character driven, player first story telling. I will occasionally use ambient music, often employ character voices, especially when differentiating between two NPCs that are both talking to the party at the same time.
Homebrew rules
I use the perpetual exploding dice rule; your die can explode as many times as you roll the highest number, not just the number of times you need to succeed on the roll. If you roll 5 20s and a 6 on a dc 10 roll, congrats, you just rolled a 106. But be careful what you wish for! :)

How Brasha creates a safe table
I send the Greens, Yellows, and Reds document to each player confidentially. Anything anyone puts as yellow or red is automatically yellow or red for the group at large. I will compile a group sheet, so no one has to feel pressured to say they agree to something they do not. Real Talk exists to protect the people at the table, not the story. If at any point something happens, is said, or begins to head in a direction that makes anyone uncomfortable — whether it goes against the Yes / Maybe / No list or not — anyone may say “Real Talk” at any time. When “Real Talk” is said: Gameplay stops immediately. No questions, no rolling, no “just one more line.” There is no penalty, mechanical or narrative, for calling it. The person who called it does not need to justify or explain themselves unless they want to. We will then: Pause the scene Identify what caused the discomfort (as much or as little as the person wants to share) Decide together how to move forward in a way that feels safe Possible outcomes include (but are not limited to): Rewinding or reframing the scene Skipping past certain content Changing the tone, details, or direction Taking a short break Ending the session early if needed If someone prefers not to say “Real Talk” out loud, they may: Message me privately during the session Use the chat Or bring it up after the session The goal of Real Talk is not to assign fault. The goal is to make sure everyone can keep playing comfortably, safely, and enthusiastically. At the end of each session, we will take 5-10 minutes to discuss what happened, what everyone liked, if anyone has changes they'd like to see, or anything they feel is no longer comfortable for them. Players may leave the campaign temporarily or permanently at any time if they feel they need a break for personal, comfort, or private reasons, and may return whenever they feel ready, safe and comfortable doing so!
