About the adventure
Like I mentioned in the blurb above, Dungeons of Drakkenheim combines many of the best elements from some of D&D’s most beloved campaigns: the horror and open-world freedom of Curse of Strahd, the faction intrigue of Waterdeep: Dragon Heist, and the exploration-focused gameplay of Tomb of Annihilation. I’ve completed Dungeons of Drakkenheim as a player and had an incredible time. After reading through the adventure module, however, I found several areas that the dm didn’t do it justice, and I wish to share this experience with you. Dungeons of Drakkenheim is essentially a hex-crawl adventure set within the ruined capital city of Drakkenheim. As you explore its dangerous streets, you’ll uncover the city’s many secrets, investigate the fate of the royal family that once ruled the kingdom, plunder abandoned noble estates, and harvest the valuable delirium crystals left behind by the comet that devastated the city. These crystals can be sold for immense wealth or crafted into powerful magical items, making them one of the campaign’s most coveted resources. Beyond exploration and treasure hunting, five rival factions are vying to reclaim Drakkenheim, creating countless opportunities for alliances, betrayals, and political intrigue. Each character also receives a personal quest that ties them directly into the story, rewarding both narrative investment and character progression with a permanent stat increase upon completion. The greatest danger lurking within the city is the Haze—a toxic, otherworldly miasma that slowly kills and grotesquely mutates all living creatures exposed to it. Every expedition into the ruins carries the risk of unimaginable horrors, forcing adventurers to weigh greed against survival. Will you brave the Haze, uncover the truth behind Drakkenheim’s fall, amass a fortune in delirium, and perhaps even claim the throne of Westemär? Gather your courage and join me in the fight to stop the Haze before it spreads beyond the city’s walls and consumes the world.

About me
I'm an avid player of Dungeons of Dragons since the time of Advanced D&D (2nd Edition) and have been a player as well as a dungeon master for most of those years. I enjoy the idea of each DnD game being one of those high-quality type of audiobook/podcast adventures. With over 1000 hours on this VTT platform, Foundry has been my preferred virtual tabletop experience for years and DMed two campaigns along with playing as a player in three using D&D 5e. For me, the best joy in DnD is the people I play with and creating extraordinary experiences with them.

How Tim creates a safe table
During Session Zero expectations for the game will be discussed. Moreover, we’ll establish boundaries of what is appropriate in game but please remember I plan on running this as a horror campaign so keep this in mind.
