About the adventure

This is an introductory Daggerheart adventure set in the Sablewood forest, a place where magic, hybrid creatures, and strange occurrences abound. Join for themes of trust, exploration, and community in a light-hearted yet slightly spooky high fantasy setting where actions and consequences matter. Come ready to engage your imagination and find out what strange creatures populate the forest, what dangers lurk around the next corner, and what is this strange package you're delivering... Based on Trekiros's remix of the Daggerheart sample adventure (Sablewood Messengers) followed by The Dying Spire, with a sprinkle of my own homebrew changes. No Daggerheart or TTRPG experience needed!

Character creation

Creating your character

You'll get to choose from 5 pre-generated characters, each with their own personalities and flaws, and answer some prompts to expand on their goals and connections with other characters at the beginning of the first session.

The current party

The available pregenerated characters are as follows: Marlowe Fairwind - Loreborne Elf Sorcerer (Primal Origin) Barnacle - Underborne Ribbet Rogue (Nightwalker) Garrick Reed - Highborne Human Warrior (Call of the Brave) Khari Nix - Ridgeborne Giant Guardian (Stalwart) Varian Soto - Wildborne Katari Ranger (Wayfinder)

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You will need to have a free Discord account as well as a free Heart of Daggers account. I will send out the invite links to the Discord server and the Heart of Daggers campaign upon joining.

What Brianna brings to the table

I will provide the initial characters, personal goals, and scene descriptions for you to interact with. Feel free to ask questions, try things out, and describe what your character is doing and thinking. This is a collaborative storytelling environment, where my job is to help facilitate what you want to do, provide consequences, and shape the ongoing story together. Where appropriate, I will also be posting hex grid maps to show where players and adversaries. This game will be primarily rules as written with some exceptions for light homebrew and occasional rule of cool. There will be a mix of roleplay and light tactical combat where every dice roll matters.

Homebrew rules

I use the "Massive Damage" and "Defined Ranges" optional rules. Additionally, each player will be given a personal mechanic based on their character's personality and/or flaws to provide interesting challenges and encourage dialogue between players.

How Brianna creates a safe table

I will be reaching out prior to the game starting to ask for each player's Lines and Veils. Additionally, any player may message me during the game with questions, concerns, or an X card. After the session, I encourage players to talk about the session using Stars and Wishes.
