About the adventure

7th sea is a game where you play Heroes - capital H - virtuous, powerful and capable individuals that fight for the greater good! Heroes are exceptional individuals, who are willing to risk life and limb to save others, fight for whom they care for, and change the world for the better. Heroes deal with issues like other Villains, Monsters, society, personal struggle, morality and making the right choice - they are not saints nor perfect angels - but they should ultimately always be Heroes at the end of the day. The world of 7th Sea is based on ours in the 17th century, but a bit different and more inclusive. It has continents/areas equivalents like the Caribbean (the Atabean), the Americas (The Land of 1000 Nations and the New World), the Middle East (the Crescent Empire), Europe (Theah), Africa (Ifri) and Asia (Khitai). This game will be an "anthology" style - different stories in different places with different characters, with each story being 6-8 sessions and voted on by the players. Example stories: 1. Pirate Nations: The Treasure Map This adventure taken straight from the Hooks page of Pirate Nations will explore a crew of Heroic pirates as they race to find a buried treasure...with a few twists along the way. 2. Sarmion: The Lost Promises This campaign is about Sarmion people trying to find the Lost Promises to reverse the curse cast on the Sarmion people. 3. Numa: The Odyssey This campaign will be about Heroes answering the call by King Polyaretos to hunt the central Numanari branch of the Cult of Hecteba.

About me

Hello there! My name is Ellie. I am 25 years old from Israel and I use she/her pronouns. I've been a hardcore 7th sea fan ever since 2017. I'm mostly a 7th Sea GM and I am very excited for 3E. My games are a mix of epic, dark yet hopeful themes filled with mystery and crazy twists. I definitely try to give my players a unique, fun experience with every session I run. As quite a sensitive person myself, I want my games to feel inclusive and safe. Communication is key with me. Since I am autistic, I may not always realize if/when I do something wrong or hurt someone. And since I am not a mind reader, and can't always tell what others are thinking and feeling, I do need others to communicate to me what they feel and if I do something wrong. I will stop what I'm doing, apologize immediately and we will think (privately or with the group) of a practical solution for us to solve this and for me to make up for what I did. The lines and veils section has my list of triggering topics I am fine/not fine with, and you are more than invited to tell me privately or tell the group what you're okay and not okay with seeing in the games. I hope to meet everyone soon and to have a fun and happy game community with yall! Ellie

Character creation

Creating your character

The players will create their characters with me through private 1 on 1 voice calls, and I will copy paste their sheet to Foundry, teach them all they need, guide them step by step and make sure all characters align in personality (to avoid constant bickering) and align with the plot itself.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

I will add the players to a Discord group chat and all they need is to join my Foundry link at no cost!

What GM Ellie brings to the table

On Foundry, I will add maps and mostly ambiance for the locations we explore, developing character sheets, a mostly mechanically-RAW experience with my own touches for the lore. I like to do voices and accents; I will occasionally (when the short story fits) add companion NPCs to each of the player character Heroes to make the Heroes' crew feel lively and interesting.

Homebrew rules

I mostly go with RAW but I add my own twists to the lore when there are gaps or anything interesting that can be added. The most prominent homebrew rule is the exclusion of Stories and adding XP as a mechanic. Also everyone starts with the Valiant Spirit advantage for 2 Hero Points at the start of each session instead of 1.

Safety

How GM Ellie creates a safe table

I will have a lines and veils channel where players can add everything they want as well as my own lines and veils. Safety at the table is first priority - if someone feels unsafe or uncomfortable out of character, they should say it right away - the game is less important than the players' well being. Then, I will ask what I or they need to do to make them feel safe, whether it's changing the narrative or ending the scene very fast.
