About me
Hi I’m Runsten. I am a storydriven GM that has run TTRPGs since 2019. My favorite systems are Dungeons and Dragons and Daggerheart, but I also have experience in more narrative systems like Thirsty Sword Lesbians and Wanderhome. I have ran both published adventures and created my own homebrew worlds. In my games I love to create the story collaboratively with my players. I always incorporate players backstories into the story and create evocative scenes where the players choices matter. My improv background makes every session memorable by making the world react to the choices through the power of yes-and. My table follows the rule of cool where rules have their place to set the guidelines, but if a player makes an exciting decision we follow the fiction, roll the dice and see where the story goes. I want to foster and inclusive table that is welcome to new and seasoned players alike. TTRPGs are an awesome form to express yourself and I want to foster a safe environment to have fun at my table.

Creating your character
Runsten will provide you with your character sheet when you sign-up or before you join the session. You can choose between a few class options based on your playstyle, but all the stats will be filled out in advance so you don't have to worry about it.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
We will use Discord for voice chat. You will need a Discord account and the app downloaded before the game. Once you join the game you will get a link from the GM to join our Discord server. We will use Owlbear Rodeo as our Virtual Tabletop (VTT). We will use it to draw our Tarot cards among other things. This requires no sign-up, and you can join Owlbear Rodeo through a link sent by the GM after joining the game. Microphone is needed to play through discord. Camera is encouraged, but not neccessary to play.
What Runsten brings to the table
Runsten will provide you a character driven story where your choices matter. Roleplay takes a center focus without forgetting exciting combat encounters. We play with rule of cool where bold choices are rewarded - but the dice ultimately decide the outcome. Runsten will guide you through the tarot-based system of The Hidden Isle. Runsten will bring rules knowledge and teach you how to play the system so that you can simply enjoy and learn the rules as part of play.

How Runsten creates a safe table
Safety tools are central to foster a safe and enjoyable playing environment. We use X cards during a session to signal if a topic is uncomfortable for you or another player. When X card is used we stop play, discuss what made the player uncomfortable, and decide how to change the story by removing or changing the triggering element. We also use Stars and Wishes at the end of each session. Here you can share what you liked about the session (Star) and what you wish for your future games (Wish). This way we keep an open dialogue and the game can evolve into the best version for our group through your feedback.
