About the adventure
The League of Daring Archeologists is an association of scholars, explorers, cartographers, monster experts, diplomats, and professional troublemakers dedicated to recovering lost knowledge before it disappears forever. The pay is good. The peer recognition is better. Together, you'll venture into places no sensible academic would ever visit: • A primordial jungle hiding a lost city, and home to carnivorous plants that have developed a taste for humanoid flesh. • A buried desert temple whose corridors are home to camel-sized scorpions. • The lost tomb of a demigod said to have mastered the magic of Time itself and gained the power to shatter reality. Ancient manuscripts. Forgotten civilizations. Impossible creatures. Dangerous magic. Rival explorers. And enough academic controversy to keep the journals busy for decades. Welcome aboard.

About me
Well met! Do you enjoy gritty fantasy, memorable characters, and the occasional laugh in the face of an untimely demise? Then you might feel right at home at my table! I've been GMing since 2018, running character-driven adventures inspired by writers like Joe Abercrombie and George R. R. Martin, as well as video games such as The Witcher, Shadow of the Colossus, and Dragon Age: Origins. Above all, my goal is for everyone at the table to have a great time. I want my games to be a place where you can relax, get invested in your character, share a laugh, and let your imagination run wild. My games tend to focus on roleplay, meaningful interactions, and character-driven storytelling, with combat that serves a purpose rather than simply filling time. I favour theatre-of-the-mind gameplay, using descriptive narration, ambient music, and sound to bring scenes to life rather than relying on maps and visual aids. My aim is to recreate the feeling of sitting around a real-life table & sharing a story with friends. So let's roll some dice, make questionable decisions, surprise each other, and create a story worth remembering. See you at the table!

Creating your character
During Session 0, we’ll go through character creation step by step and discuss how each character fits into the world. Have an idea of your character ready.

What to expect
Preparing for the session
A Theater of the Mind experience! We'll be using Discord, the only app you'll need. Our goal is to recreate the feel of a real-life tabletop game as closely as possible, focusing on imagination, roleplay, and collaborative storytelling. Come to Session 0 with a character concept in mind, or create your character from scratch and present the complete package during the session!
What IvanGMT brings to the table
I've run games for approximately 200 players over the years (a lot of these offline). In-character banter, creative role-play, and energetic storytelling are encouraged and rewarded. The more you engage with the world and your fellow players, the more you'll get out of the experience. Combat occurs as often as the group chooses, or as often as trouble finds them. We might go several sessions without a fight, or find ourselves in danger every session. The story and your decisions will determine the pace. Expect occasional ambient and action music to help set the mood, and remember: the Rule of Cool absolutely applies.
