About me

I am a decades long lover of Dungeons and Dragons who has been a player and DM for 35 years. I have 3 children and a career in the aviation industry. I learned to play D&D in a back yard non-insulated shed in 1990 after finding a dropped $100 bill in a CVS and purchasing the rulebooks. We played regardless of weather, sometime shoveling a path through the snow to get to the shed. I served in the military in the early 2000's and even though weight was at a premium I choose to take my D&D books and dice with me overseas and once my unit was stable I pulled them out and spread the gospel of D&D to dozens of people. Near the late 2000's as I left the military to teach medicine and move towards aviation as a career my players ended up scattered to the winds. For this reason I switched over from running games online using Fantasy Grounds. I built a custom gaming table for my return to in-person D&D!! My personal history aside, I am a lover of lore but not a force feeder of lore. My style of DMing splits the ratio of Action to Roleplaying at a 60/40 rate. I like to allow players to hold discussions between themselves within reasonable time frames that do not disrupt the flow of the game but entitles agency of the party. I have 20 years experience of running games in VTTs (Virtual Table Tops) and am extremely familiar with digital tools and troubleshooting. As of 2026 I run 3 weekly games, 1 using my custom built table and 2 using Fantasy Grounds. All 5e in Faerun.
