About the adventure

Welcome to Alkenstar- city of guns, gears, sand, and smog! This steampunk city is nestled next to the Mana Wastes, a large desert expanse that has made magic in the region unpredictable at best, and deadly at worst! This has led to huge innovations in technologies within Alkenstar- clockwork constructs, black powder, and most recently, a new discovery, pyronite. But with all great innovations comes those looking to profit off the backs of the inventors. One such mogul has wronged you all in one way or the other- Ambrost Mugland. Now it is time for you all to get your revenge.

About me

Hey, and welcome to the adventure! I’m Chewie – a lifelong gamer, nerd, and a passionate tabletop RPG enthusiast with over 10 years of experience in the world of TTRPGs. I’ve had the privilege of running everything from home campaigns and local brewery night one-shots to online adventures with friends. I got my start in D&D 5e and expanded into Pathfinder 2e a few years ago, and I absolutely love the depth and versatility that Pathfinder brings to the table. A little bit about me outside of the game: I’m a 35-year-old gamer with a love for gardening, which I pursue semi-professionally. I’ve spent years working in the service industry, both front and back of house, which has taught me how to think on my feet, keep things running smoothly, and create a positive atmosphere – all skills that come in handy at the game table! I truly believe that tabletop RPGs are not only a fantastic way to escape into new worlds but also a great way to relax, decompress, and share some laughs. Whether you’re a seasoned player or new to the game, I’m here to ensure we have a fun and memorable time together. In our campaigns, we’ll be using Foundry VTT to bring the world to life. Foundry offers a powerful platform that enhances our gaming experience with QOL and automation modules that streamline gameplay, so you can focus on the adventure rather than the rules. I use professional maps to make sure every encounter is visually immersive and engaging, and I also incorporate ambient sound and music to set the tone and keep you immersed in the world. Whether we're battling monsters, exploring ancient ruins, or simply roleplaying around the campfire, you can expect a rich and dynamic experience, all thanks to the tools Foundry brings to the table!

Character creation

Creating your character

You are welcome to theorycraft and discuss builds with each other. We will make characters in-game during session 0. I recommend using Pathbuilder to plan out your character if you would like.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You will need a viable microphone setup- be aware of feedback, background noise, and quality issues that may affect other players' experiences. We will use my Discord server for voice calls and my Foundry server for the VTT. Both are free for players!

What Chewie brings to the table

As a GM I add many quality-of-life modules to the base Foundry suite to improve ease of play and facilitate a more relaxed table. I strive to add ambient sounds and battle music to each scene to maintain immersion.

Homebrew rules

I typically use Free Archetype and Gradual Ability Boosts in my games, but I am happy to discuss more or less with each table!

Safety

How Chewie creates a safe table

I try to make my games welcoming and inclusive to everyone! All of my players are encouraged to message me to discuss issues within the game or with other players that I can address. We try to take a break halfway through each session, but may forget in the moment.
