About the adventure

Rappan Athuk, the legendary Dungeon of Graves. Many brave adventurers have delved into its depths and not returned to tell the tale. Untold treasure, malignant evil, and more lie beneath the tainted soil that surrounds the infamous necropolitan monument. You and your allies are just the latest in a long line of would-be adventurers and treasure hunters, seeking to test your mettle against the legendary dungeon. Will you become another grave at its entrance? Or will you reach the lower levels, find untold wealth, and lay low an ancient evil? ---------- ## About My Style Pathfinder has a reputation for being a power gamer's paradise, and I'd like to cut that off at the pass. I don't GM games that encourage power gaming, nor will a power game last long at my table. While I'm all for building an optimised character to tackle the hazards that lie ahead, I do not tolerate metagaming, cynical builds aimed at 'breaking' the game, oppositional play, or any kind of play that forces others into an arms race to keep up. We'll be working together to tell a story, and while there will be challenges thrown your way that you should absolutely prepare for, I do not want the game to devolve into a GM vs players fiasco that makes the game unfun for anybody. I love to challenge my players with unique combats and scenarios, but I am also a big fan of roleplay and character development. I want to work with you to have ghosts from your past come back to haunt you, or to engineer unique character moments for you to undertake alongside your allies. I'm a story-first, combat/puzzles/traps second, and min-maxing a distant last kind of guy. If that doesn't sound like you, chances are you aren't going to enjoy this style of game. ------ ### What I Need from You I'm looking for a committed group of players who can handle fortnightly sessions. You don't need to come to the table with a pre-built character (in fact, you should definitely *not* to that), but I would like you to consider a few questions: 1. What is your experience level with the Pathfinder system? 2. Have you previously played Rappan Athuk, the Crucible of Freya, Slumbering Tsar, or any other Necromancer Games module? If so, how far did you make it? 3. What percentage of roleplay, combat, and puzzles/traps do you prefer? 4. What time zone are you in? -----

About me

G'day! My name is Chris and I have been DMing games of Dungeons & Dragons for 26 years. I am a professional GameMaster running 40+ hours of PF1e and PF2e every week, with more than 50 paying customers spread across ten weekly campaigns. Not only do I have a pro subscription on Roll20, but I also own every available Roll20 resource for D&D 5e. I also own five Foundry VTT licenses with Forge hosting. Additionally, I have an extensive collection of tokens, a massive collection of high-quality battle maps, custom status tokens, a Syrinscape subscription, a private Discord server with a thriving community of more than 70 players, and a truly colossal collection of third-party reference materials (over 1,000 titles).

Character creation

Creating your character

Characters are created using a variety of first and third-party sources, as well as a homebrew talents system to allow for greater build flexibility. Some classes have been tweaked with additional features to ensure they feel competitive in the legendary dungeon.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

While you may begin to prepare your character as soon as you've read the player's guide, there will be ample time to workshop your character before your first session. You should not create your character until you have read this primer. You'll need a Discord, Roll20, and Forge account to participate fully and a Syrinscape account if you'd like ambient audio.

What Chris brings to the table

I have been GMing for 26 years and doing so professionally for three years, running forty hours of paid Pathfinder and Pathfinder 2e weekly. Over the years, I've amassed an exhaustive collection of official and 3PP content (I have four active Paizo subscriptions for PF2e content), and have collected a truly impressive collection of high-quality maps and tokens. In addition to being a professionally trained actor, I am also a professional writer, and I provide weekly session summaries of 1,000+ words. Multiple Nerdgasms boasts an active Discord community of 80+ members, five servers for FoundryVTT, a pro Syrinscape subscription for ambient audio, and much more.
