About the adventure

Join a table that makes you feel right at home! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You will play as a citizen of the holy city of Elturel. But you’re not any citizen, you are either a member of The chivalric Order of the Gauntlet, or a member of the legendary Hellriders of Elturel. The city known as the beacon of safety and faith is becoming a hellscape. The nearby sister city of Baldur's Gate attempts to come to their aid, but their leadership is fractured and the city guard struggles to keep order. You are drawn into their efforts, tasked with rooting out cultists devoted to the Dead Three: The Gods of tyranny, murder, and the dead. Their followers are carrying out brutal killings across the city while everything else continues to unravel. But really… How bad can it be? Everything is fine. Probably.

About me

I'm a laid back gamer from Ohio who enjoys the simple things in life. Like many, I was introduced to D&D by critical role. I have been dming from the start. My experience is all in d&d as I still have many aspects of the game to explore and enjoy. Both as a player, and a dm I enjoy a balanced and laid back style of play. I love to roleplay, I love to strategize combat, I love puzzles, and I love to create and explore massive worlds.

Character creation

Creating your character

We will have a session 0 where we build your characters together. We will use core and expanded rules, and I will allow some homebrew/customizations, (to be discussed at the table) I allow players to roll 2 sets of stats, and choose the set they prefer. HP will be rolled, with 1st level being max, and 1's to be re-rolled at level 2 and beyond.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Hey there! Welcome to the table! We will go over most of what you need during the session 0. For now, all you need to do is get into my discord server, and add yourself to my campaign on D&D Beyond. If your unsure on how to do either of those things, just send me a DM and I will help you out. Provided we have time, the 2nd half of the session 0 will be the introduction to the campaign, so come ready to play! What DM Miller brings to the table

I run a pretty laid-back table. We take the story seriously when it matters, but we’re not afraid to break tension with humor, memes, or a ridiculous plan that somehow works. My goal is always the same: everyone at the table has fun and feels like they matter in the story. I like big cinematic moments and letting cool ideas fly. I’m very happy to say yes when something awesome happens at the table. I use music, voices, and animated maps to help bring scenes to life. I want you to be immersed in the world, and escape your reality for the few hours your at my table. My table is meant to feel like a second home, not a second job.

Homebrew rules

In addition to some of the most common "homebrew' rules for 5e, I use maxed out critical hits and modified revivify rules.

Safety

How DM Miller creates a safe table

I use a safety tool questionnaire, that we will go over either in session 0, or privately. We will also have regular check ins / debriefs to make sure everyone is still enjoying the game.
