About the adventure

Raiders have been disrupting travel along the Long Road north of Triboar. The raids are disrupting trade caravans enough that the Lord Protector of Triboar has offered a reward for defeating the bandits that are wrecking havoc in the area. This adventure is a one-shot that is suitable for both experienced and novice players. The adventure will include some role playing and exploration, with most of the session taken up by a dungeon crawl. The characters will be Level 2 using standard starting equipment from their class and background.

About me

I started playing D&D with 2nd edition. I didn't play for a long time, and started playing again with 5th edition at the end of 2019. I have considerable experience as a DM in both editions.

Character creation

Creating your character

Players will create their characters in DnDBeyond using either point buy or standard array. The characters will be 2nd level and use the starting equipment for their class and background. For experienced players, it is recommended that they prepare the characters before the session to save time. For new players, I'll work with them to create their characters prior to the session. Stock characters will also be available for those who want to go that route.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Players will need to have DND Beyond and Discord accounts. I'll send them links to a Discord server and a DND Beyond campaign page. They will also need to fill out the Monte Cook Consent checklist and send it back to me.

What Jeffrey Baker brings to the table

I will bring a clear understanding of the rules to the game, and a willingness to let every player have their moment in the spotlight.

Homebrew rules

In general, I will follow the rules as intended, but the Rule of Cool will occasionally be used to overwrite the written rules. I don't have a lot of homebrew rules, although I do follow that a character can drink a potion as a bonus action. Administering a potion to another character does require an action.
