About the adventure
Night City is glitching. Pirate broadcasts cut through secure channels. Clubgoers wake up with missing hours. People swear they hear music coming from dead devices and agents with no signal. Some call it a viral marketing stunt. Some say it is a new kind of braindance. Others think it is something older, stranger, and far more dangerous. The crew gets pulled in through what should be a simple job, but every lead points deeper into the city’s underbelly. Something is moving through Night City’s soundscape, and the people who notice it either disappear, change, or become part of the signal. one thing is for sure, in Night City, the signal always finds you. In this adventure, no experience with Cyberpunk RED or the Edgerunners Mission Kit is required. This campaign is set in 2079, using the Edgerunners Mission Kit to bring Night City’s latest chrome, style, and chaos to the table. Bring your attitude, your look, and your character idea. I’ll help with the rules, the world, and character creation. This is an LGBTQ+ friendly, inclusive table. Night City may be brutal, but the table is not. Players of all identities are welcome, and respect for each other is mandatory.

About me
I have been an avid gamer for as long as I can remember, exploring a wide variety of tabletop systems throughout my youth and into my adult life. My journey behind the screen began out of necessity, but it quickly became a profound creative outlet. Professionally, I am a librarian, which means research, lore organization, and narrative depth are second nature to me. When I’m not in the library, I’m a club DJ specializing in techno and electro. This unique dual-background allows me to approach GMing as both a curator of stories and a master of atmosphere. For me, tabletop gaming has become a true art form—a way to blend structured world-building with the fluid, improvisational energy of a live performance.

Creating your character
Character creation can happen either before the game or during Session 0, depending on player comfort and experience. New players are welcome to wait until Session 0 so I can walk them through the process. For this campaign, I recommend using the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Mission Kit rules as the starting point, since the game is set in 2079. Players can create either a pregenerated-style character or a customized edgerunner using those rules. I strongly recommend the Cyberpunk RED Companion App, as it makes character creation much easier and helps keep stats, gear, cyberware, and abilities organized. Once the character is made, players should transfer the character information into their Roll20 sheet before play begins.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Before the game, players should create a character and enter it into Roll20. I recommend using the Cyberpunk RED Companion app to build either a pregenerated or customized character, then transferring the character information into the Roll20 sheet. Players will also need a Roll20 account and access to Discord for voice, table updates, and communication between sessions. A private Discord invite will be sent after signing up for the game. New players are welcome, and I am happy to help with character creation before or during Session 0.
What Matthew Cooper brings to the table
I provide a cinematic, immersive Cyberpunk RED experience with dynamic maps, customized soundscapes, character voices, and atmospheric details to bring Night City to life. Between sessions, I may also share teasers, clues, rumors, or in-world messages to keep the story moving and give players more ways to engage with the mystery. My GM style focuses on high-energy scenes, character-driven drama, stylish action, and meaningful choices. I respect the rules and use them to keep the game fair, but Cyberpunk is all about attitude, risk, and unforgettable moments, so the Rule of Cool has a strong place at my table. If a player has a bold, creative, or cinematic idea, I want to find a way to make it matter.
Homebrew rules
I keep homebrew light and explain any adjustments clearly before they come up in play. For this campaign, the main homebrew I use is offering a few additional healing options so the crew has more ways to recover between dangerous jobs without removing the risk of combat. I also use an “inspiration” style reward for standout roleplay, clever problem-solving, bold character choices, or especially cinematic moments. When earned, this can be spent to reroll an important roll. The goal is to reward creativity and memorable play while keeping the core Cyberpunk RED rules intact.

Safety
How Matthew Cooper creates a safe table
Player safety and comfort are a priority at my table. Before Session 0, I will send a linked Lines and Veils document so players can privately share boundaries, topics to avoid, and content that should fade to black. In Session 0, we will review tone, expectations, table etiquette, PvP boundaries, character concepts, and how darker cyberpunk themes will be handled. During play, I use X, N, and O cards. Players can use them digitally, by private message, verbally, or on video. X stops or removes content, N slows down or redirects, and O means the player is okay to continue. No explanation is required. After intense scenes, I check in, make space for feedback, and help the table decompress.
