About the adventure

This is D&D in a stone age world, full of young gods, giant beasts, and untold mysteries. It is a sandbox campaign full of weird and epic flavor. Due to the nature of the setting, there are some class and race restrictions to maintain the theme. Your party will work together to overcome the mythic obstacles, slay powerful beasts and monsters, and uncover the mysteries hidden in this primeval world. The world is young, wild, and natural. Giant beasts roam the land, sea, and sky. Clans form to increase their chances of survival. And in the distance, towering over the primeval landscape, are the shining black obelisks reaching to the clouds. To go near one is to accept death. Impenetrable, indestructible, these forbidden places are known as Stones of the Lost Ones. *** Crisis is coming. Elders of all clans can sense it. Many clans are gathering at Hot Lake in Mule Deer Plain, lake that is naturally heated year round in vast prairie where many clans come to hunt mule deer in summer. Some clans will not go, but will send a delegate (i.e. a champion or sage). Clansmoot is going to determine what to do about Coming Crisis. Even unfriendly people like brash Bullmen (Minotaurs), conniving Hyenamen (Gnolls), and vicious Pteramen (dinopeople) are said to be coming; such is magnitude of Crisis. You are either going with your clan or being sent alone to Clansmoot to help plan for what is Coming. That is where your story will begin.

About me

I have been Gamemastering tabletop roleplaying games (TTRPGs) for 24 years. This is not my hobby: This is my passion. I spend more time on content creation and honing my craft than on any other single thing in my life. I also have a background in theater and I worked as a mentalist (basically, a "mind reading magician") throughout college and grad school. I love performing and consider GMing to be a performance art. Each session is a show for you, about you, and starring you as players. My job is to keep you entertained and engaged.

Character creation

Creating your character

Please either roll 4d6 (drop the lowest) or use the Point-Buy System for Attributes. Playable races/lineages: Humans are the most populous sapient beings on this world, but they are not alone. Some require special explanation in this setting: Aasimar, Tieflings, Half elves, goliaths, and dragonborn are the result of humans interbreeding with powerful gods, demons, fey, giants, and dragons. Aarakocra Aasimar Dragonborn Goliath Half elves Humans Kenku Lizardfolk Loxodon Owlin Shifters Tabaxi Tieflings Tortle Yuan-ti Playable Classes Only some classes (and subclasses) are playable. Within the game world, some classes use different terminology as noted below. Choose from following class options: Barbarians are called Warrior-Shamans and the following subclasses are allowed: Ancestral Guardian, Beast, Berserker, Giant, Totem Bards are called Story-Keepers, and the following classes are allowed: Lore, Spirits, Valor) Druid are called Shamans, and all Circles are allowed. Fighters* are generally called simply Fighters until they choose a subclass. Champions are called Champions, and Cavaliers are called Horse-Warriors. Rangers are called Hunters, and the following subclasses are allowed: Beast Master, Drakewarden (called a Dragon-Tamer), Hunter (called a Master Hunter), Monster Slayer, and Swarmkeeper. The only Rogue* subclass is Scout, and all Rogues are called Scouts. Sorcerers are called simply Sorcerers, but may also be referred to by the type of sorcery that imbues them: Draconic (Dragonblooded), Wild Archfey Warlocks** are called Servants of Fair Ones. *Fighters and Rogues gain an additional Tool Proficiency at level 1 to compensate for the absence of heavy armor and thieves' tools in this setting. **Because writing does not exist, Warlocks that choose the Pact of the Tome have pictorial tattoos or scarification on their bodies to represent their Tome. In this setting, there are no Artificers, Clerics, Paladins, or Wizards. Arcane magic has simply not been studied in the academic sense afforded by medieval society, and the gods of this world are young, considered by the people to be Great Spirits, and are all associated with powerful natural phenomena (Sun, sea, earth, etc.). Playable Backgrounds: In a prehistoric world, very few backgrounds exist. Some have slight alterations in this setting, as noted. They are: Acolyte (only equipment granted is a holy symbol) Fisher (only equipment granted is a net) Giant Foundling (only equipment granted is a small object reminding you of home) Guild Artisan (only equipment granted is a set of artisans tools; replace features with Outlander features) Hermit (only equipment granted is an herbalism kit) Outlander (only equipment granted is an animal trophy)

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You will need a working microphone. Headphones are helpful but not necessary. If you wish to use a video camera, you may. Please make sure you have a Roll20 account and Discord. I will host a campaign on D&D Beyond for character sheets, but if you prefer to use roll20, a pdf, or even a paper sheet that is fine too. It will be helpful if you create (or partially create) your character before Session 0, but if not I can work with you then to complete it.

What DMinYellow brings to the table

I will provide maps, a custom curated playlist of scene background music and audio effects, as well as 24 years of experience with practiced character voices.
