About the adventure
The sun hasn't risen over Icewind Dale in over two years. The everlasting winter tightens its grip, and the Ten Towns teeter on the edge of collapse. Survival is a daily battle. Horror lurks in the blizzards. And something ancient stirs beneath the ice. Welcome everyone, my name is Tompson. I've been a paid DM for around 9 years now, and my Tuesday slot has just opened up after finishing Chains of Asmodeus with a fantastic group. Several of those players are continuing into this new campaign, and now I'm seeking up to 3 more players to join us in Rime of the Frostmaiden. Rime is one of the best modules Wizards has written, blending classic survival challenges with innovative horror and mystery. This campaign will touch on survival, trauma, and high-level decision-making as the Ten Towns face an unending winter. With plenty of room for character motivations and the optional secret system, expect mysteries, challenges, and deep roleplay opportunities. I am looking for players willing to commit to the long haul—players who enjoy roleplay, character progression, and open communication with both me and the rest of the group. My goal, as always, is a fun, compelling, and fulfilling campaign where every session builds toward a story we're all proud of. No matter the outcome, we weave it together week after week.

About me
Me Hey there! I’m Pedro, but online I go by TompsonX. I used to run The Adventurer’s Guild, a D&D 5e community server with over 5,000 sessions played, and I’ve been a professional DM for over 8 years. I currently run two active campaigns, but I’m almost always looking for players in the GMT 18:30–23:00 time slot. My games focus on roleplay and meaningful combat, usually running about 3 hours per session. I like to offer a free trial session so you can see if our styles click before committing. If your schedule doesn’t match my regular campaigns, I’m also available for private or custom sessions—these are a bit more expensive, but perfect if you want to play at a different time. My goal is simple: to make each game fun, challenging, and memorable, while letting your characters shine and shape the story along the way.

Creating your character
We'll be using 2014 rules. Once we have a full group, I'll send each player a choice of a few secret options they can choose to take. We'll use a pretty extensive list of pre-approved content (Basically everything that's from the Forgotten Realms setting) We'll use 27 point buy Everything else will be decided during session 0
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Working Microphone with little background noise Discord Account Roll20 Account And simply letting the DM know if they have issues with any of the aforementioned things ahead of time, so solutions can be found.
What TompsonX brings to the table
I focus on Rules as Written when it comes to combat, while allowing unorthodox uses of features outside of combat. Example: Had a player attempt to hypnotize someone with Hypnotic Pattern to reach some memories that were long forgotten, by pairing it up with someone else's detect memory Default: Full access to the rules in Roll20 for character creation. Handouts and Maps in Roll20. Professional Microphone. Consistency, it's extremely rare for me to cancel a session, and we only cancel if we're missing more than one player. Small amount of character voices (mostly pitch changes instead of accents). Extra: Curated Music An art token for your character that we can make together
Homebrew rules
Generally nothing, perhaps we can add some extra crafting rules with the Hamund's Harvesting Handbooks because it pairs well with a survival campaign, to be discussed in session 0

Safety
How TompsonX creates a safe table
A strong session 0 is mandatory, as this campaign has some elements that can be uncomfortable. During it, we'll use the Deck of Player Safety to determine anything we want to make sure not to include. Other than that, open communication is the most important thing. If I feel something is wrong, I'll ask the person privately, and my DMs are always open
