About the adventure

The realm of Albion stands at a crossroads. A sacred sword has been drawn from stone but by the wrong hand. Kings scheme. Fey lords whisper. Ancient wyrms stir beneath forgotten hills. You are not mere adventurers. You are the people who will determine whether this age ends in glory, ruin, or something far stranger. THE ONCE & FUTURE CROWN is an ongoing D&D 5e campaign set in a richly detailed Arthurian world of knights, conspiracies, and old magic. Each session is grounded in hand-crafted medieval maps spanning castles, misty moors, hidden sanctuaries, and court halls where every smile hides a dagger. This campaign weaves together three tones: - HEROIC & EPIC: legendary deeds, knightly vows, and the weight of destiny - DARK & GRITTY: real consequences, moral ambiguity, and the cost of war - MYSTERY & INTRIGUE: court politics, hidden bloodlines, and ancient secrets WHAT TO EXPECT • Session Zero to establish safety tools, character bonds, and campaign tone • Rich, map-driven exploration with custom hand-drawn and digital medieval maps • Meaningful character arcs, your backstory matters here • A mix of roleplay, investigation, and tactical combat • Consistent weekly or biweekly scheduling EXPERIENCE LEVEL Intermediate players welcome. You should know the basics of 5e (how to roll dice, what your class does, basic action economy), but you don't need to be a rules expert. New-to-online-play is fine. We'll get you set up. WHAT YOU NEED • D&D Beyond • A microphone • Discord • Roll20 link provided before Session Zero • 3 hours of uninterrupted time Seats are limited to 4–6 players.

About me

I've been playing in and running games since 1995, having experience with multiple versions of D&D (3.5 and 5e most recently), D6 Star Wars, D20 Star Wars, EDGE/FFG Star Wars, Savage Worlds, Rolemaster, HARP, and HARP Sci-Fi, just to name a few. My style is very story driven, with rolls and rules coming along to support instead of dictate, and I am friendly to everyone no matter their walk in life. I do require that everyone at the table, even virtually, respect everyone else and treat them like people deserve to be treated. There is no place for small minds and harsh words at my table, and intolerance will not be permitted.

Character creation

Creating your character

Character creation will be covered in the first session, "Session 0", which will also be the introduction to the setting and the story, going over how to interact with Roll20, and other administrative and group centric pre-campaign elements.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Have accounts on Roll20 and Discord. We will use a Discord server for voice communication as well as compaign interaction, text messaging and discussion, and materials sharing.
